There's also an Ebon Pigment though.
There is, but it seems the recipe is for Ebon in the first place. In order to change from one type to another, you need to need to use the armour with the desired pigment in a synergy furnace. Aside from simply changing the colour of the armour (which you may want to do just for looks), this will allow you to have two of the exact same piece of armour, with different Evolith Augments, but still be able to choose which one you use with a macro.
For instance, if I have two Erlking's Blades, I can't choose which one goes in my main hand with a macro, it will always pick the same one first, but it might not be the one I want.
So depending on what the augments will be, it's quite possible that you may want two of the same piece, with different augments for different situations.

Ability delay -%d
Recast delay -%d%%
TP Bonus %+d%%
Casting time -%d%% |
This list was apparently .dat mined by someone on BG, so I really can't attribute to the accuracy of it. On top of that we don't know what is going to after the colon. (that's a : symbol btw)
But, I can foresee a BLM for instance, wanting
this, with Ice Elemental magic: [
Awesome stat], Casting time -%d%% (whatever that means), and Vs. amorphs: [
Another awesome stat] (because they love blowing up flans). But then they may also want the exact same piece for thunder. So Cue
Ebur Coat, or
Furia Coat.
As for the
Ebon Pigment, since all of this gear seems to start out as Ebon anyway, I can see this being the least worthwhile of the three, but after you've changed it from Ebon to Ebur or Furia, the Ebon pigment will be used to change it back.
