To make things more complicated, it depends on the zone.
Some zones have "shared hate" and things work slightly differently from any other zone in the game.

Yes, talking standard hate mechanics.

Ambu, Dyna, other places, have shared hate lists.

What Sindri is saying, aggro and healing the aggroed player alone is not enough to get on hate list.

Aggroed player needs to tag mobs via an action, spell, melee etc, then geo needs to heal them to get on hate list.

Otherwise super-tanking would not work - no tag on a mob, no hate on mob.

Dodik I might be wrong but I don't think that's correct.
What both Sindri and I are saying is that as soon as a mob does an auto attack on the puller or tank that generates enmity towards that player. So healing the puller/tank after they get hit by a mob does correctly tag hate.

So if you pull a pack of 10 mobs, and 6 of them have done an auto attack on the puller, if you heal the puller then all 6 of those mobs should be correctly tagged, but the 4 remaining that have not done an auto attack yet should not turn green in the addon.

Not true, otherwise supertanking wouldn't be a thing.

Aha I see, ok I'll do a fix then so that it only shows the mobs green after a heal if the puller/tank has done an action towards those mobs first

New update 2.1.2
Thanks again to everyone for chiming in and giving feedback! Very much appreciated!

Latest version: GEO-HUD v2.1.2

Hate tags fix.
Cure/buff on a puller/tank greens a mob only if that person (or the GEO) has already acted on it. Getting punched by the mobs does not put anyone on the hate list.

As said above, you wouldn't need this in some zones with shared enmity, but those are quite limited and you could set a special behaviour for those zones.
Everywhere else, which is pretty much 99% of the times, what Dodik and Stark said stand true or, as they mentioned, Supertanking wouldn't be possible at all.

Love the addon.

Last night in dyna, I'd put my luopan down cast dispelga (hitting 15+ targets usually) and it would just say "no targets in range".

EDIT: maybe this new version fixes it? Just realized there was an update since last night (haven't tested).

Yeah Sechs Ambuscade is already treated like a zone that automatically has enmity on everything in the current implementation.
Other zones I wasn't 100% sure of the exact behaviour so I haven't implemented any extra special behaviours yet.

Yup Brim I did do an update the other day v2.1.1 which fixes the "no target in range" display when you are not the main GEO.
Would you mind trying the latest version and see if you get the same issue please.

The "shared enmity" zones if I recall are only:

1) Maquette Abdhaljs (Legion and Ambuscade)
2) Outer Ra'Kaznar (U) (Vagary, Sortie, Skirmish)
3) Cirdas Caverns (U) (Delve, Incursion, Skirmish, Alluvion Skirmish)
4) Rala Waterwas (U) (Skirmish, Alluvion Skirmish, Sinister Reign)
5) Yorcia Weald (U) (Skirmish, Alluvion Skirmish, Delve)

Did I forget anything?
Oh yeah I think The Dynamis Divergence zones (all of them) also have Shared enmity.

Probably some Master Trial battlefield are the same and I'm not sure about the Apollyon Central and Temenos Central special battles, maybe?

Sortie is only shared enmity in the basement, I think. It's the only complication to the zone rule I know of.

Enmity is a bit weird in Sortie even upstairs.

Aggroed mobs will de-aggro, linked mobs from aggro never de-aggro though, they will follow you forever until you warp down, up to a boss, or exit.

Never noticed shared enmity downstairs, had to tag IME. Same weirdness with linking though.
