October 2025 Version Update

Rhapsodies is not something normal to use as a comparison because they outright thought the game was about to die from SE corporate pulling the plug.

It still doesn't change the fact that what I assume are still the best weapons for two of the best jobs in the game are needlessly time gated behind a tedious set of quests for 3 months. Imagine being a new player, and GEO or RUN end up being your favorite jobs only for you to find out you have to do daily quests for 3 months to unlock their full potential, while all the other jobs have no such penalty.

Even if prime weapons have replaced either of them, I think that makes it even worse, 3 months for weapons that aren't even BiS anymore, but would help someone work towards a prime. I've been out of the loop for a while so feel free to enlighten me.

I was about halfway through them before I stopped playing again so won't take me too much effort to finally get my Idris if I do decide to return. But my heart bleeds for newer players who still have to suffer through 3 months of this ***.

If you're a new player what other DREAM are you getting within 3 months anyway, time gated or not?

It depends on how much you know before you start. Knowledge is power.

I actually started typing it out then got bored, so heres the short version

Relic is very likely with the ~70 mil price tag and no gating

Mythic is very unlikely with the ~180 million gil price tag and all the *** alongside it (finish ToAU, captain, all the NM's, redo assaults, all the zeni farming)

Empyrean anywhere between easy and unlikely, dependong on weapon: some magian trials have very nice NM's that respawn quick and some take 12 hours to respawn, some weapons are Carabosse quick and some are Chloris/Glavoid *** you, alongside the ~100 million gil price tag

Ergon: easy. the plasm, the stones, ~80 mil price tag can be farmed up between burning Imps, the gating is the 3 months for Legend rank.

Aeonic: involves finishing all of RoV, which involves doing a shitton of the other missions, get the 62k silt to get eschan nef (not difficult) then farm up the 51111 beads required legit? Tall order
Then again, 62k silt is 6,200,000 XP earned in Escha. Thats nothing if you're getting PLed and can get most jobs to 99 in a day. But if you're not getting PLed, thats over 3 jobs from 0 to 99, how long will that take, while doing other things (like making gil)?


All of these depend on how much playtime this new player has per day/week.

Or you just do 1-2 assignments a day/bank them if you lack the time and thats not an issue. if you arent playing days in a row constantly then it doesnt really matter how low they make it unless its <5 mins

No it won't. You can bank a bunch and do them all at once on the weekend. You were able to do that before the time got reduced.

You get 8 imps per day and can use up to 3 per assignment. How would this take "several years"??????

The idea is youd do that on days you -dont- have the time to commit, i did it the now old way which waaaas, 1-2 hr every 3 days iirc, and that was doing every assignment for ygnas, ergon only you can do the most basic over and over and be done in half the time. If you made a mythic ergons not much different and ill understand even less how the process is so terrible

Fellas I'm begging to think he has no idea how coalition ops and getting Legend rank works, he just saw "6 months" and noped out.

Pretty sure Malig boxes have a higher drop rate than the armor had. I went 1/1 this morning on VE Lilith getting a box, and I'm NEVER that lucky.

We've gotten 2 drops of the box on Easy with TH8. It's *definitely* a higher drop rate.

Idc how long anything takes, I just want in-game achievements and in-game mastery rank checklist ^^b.

Coalition assignments are easy so as a new(ish) player GEO myself I was pretty happy that my single particularly useful REMA was both extremely cheap and also involved only low-effort dailies (and a negligible Delve step). The BRD in my group had to get stuck in Abyssea/Assaults/Nyzul/whatever for weeks and spend 10x the amount of gil and effort as me to get most of his kit up and running. Meanwhile I go slap a Reive and I'm done for the day (two Reives now?). Honestly, I think BRD is much more intimidating for a new player. Or really any job that wants a Mythic, that thing is way too expensive for someone starting at 0 gil
