I just wanted to share my experiences on Eventide So far.
I know everyone has different feelings on private, so I'd like to avoid any kinda discussions related to that.
For what its worth i love this game and I still have a retail sub going. I've never played on a server launch, and it is an absolute joy, its messy, its chaotic, and its creating a really nice community and environment to play this game in.
The mastery system makes Nin and Dualwield really fun to play. So far we've unlocked TOAU, and are getting into the midgame.
The Dev team has been really communicative and are super encouraging to new players.
This is the closest I've come to feeling that sense of adventure that hooked me so long ago when the world of Vana Diel felt new and exciting. Its not optimized to death yet, so I hope you'll come join this community and come play with us. (P.s. I am in no way affiliated with the server's owners, I just wanted to share and I hope my friends from retail and Horizon will join me here).
/t me in game, i can craft low level gear for you.
Dw wont need it i will play warrior axe and shield and a 2 hand than play paladin at 30, paladin is cheap to play all i would need is just af and Parade gorget and than later Nin and scrolls hehe
They all say the same thing, every time a new server pops up they bop over to it like the return of christ. Always with the same exact message to recruit others, its so funny at this point.
Draylo, I was anticipating your response. Would love the opportunity to change your mind. You can find me on discord at TaterToths. I love this game in all its forms, both retail and this version here on Eventide and Horizon.
What I like about this server is that it’s not optimized to death yet. Would be happy to see you in either retail or eventide. I’m just a golden retriever boi bb
I might give Eventide a shot. While I still sub and play retail, I do enjoy a good private server with a throwback to the old days. Just as long as they don't try to customize it to death like a few other servers I will not name here.
(Will admit though, some of the customizations, I've read about on the discord do have me interested)
I've been playing retail off and on (more on than off) since literally N/A launch in '02. Things have happened that forced me to start new accounts and I'd play them to level cap, can't tell you how many times I've had to do all the Nation Missions and Expansion missions in the past.
There are some "certain" things about retail now that I do prefer, however, overall I really do miss the old 75 cap days and how the game played back then, it really did force you to interact with others in order to get anything accomplished.
I wanted to level leathet crafting with benefiting off gill quick i thought i could get goblino masks i killed over a 100 between weavers and thugs no go… just a mail wanted to craft embaaaaaa leathers

To be honest dralyo jsut as u said am addicted to retail but its something to do after sortie when i have time.
Hi Friends I've met a few of you from here in game already. If you join and I can help you let me know. I'm Tothram in game and i can craft low level stuff for you or grab some CP items.
I’d rather this thread not become about bashing any other servers. I love this game is all it’s forms and that includes retail both modern and old and private servers. My only goal with this post is to try to persuade friends both new and old to join us on eventide. Eventide is giving major 2004 vibes, to use a story from my own time on retail this is what it feels like:
Wondering alone through Buburimu no maps no ideas in the world, just a Taru with a dream. When all of a sudden a Mithra DRG appears and saves you from a goblin. They then Offer to escort you to your destination. Unsure of why they are offering assistance you very happily tag along.
When you arrive they offer you some scrolls they had sitting in their mog house and wish you well. The next day they see you in valkurm hunting subjob items and offer to help again. In that moment a friendship is born as you begin to hear whispers on the wind of the resurrection of the shadow lord. Oblivious to the challenges that lay before you, you blindly charge ahead.
My friends name was Kayest and he was the mithra drg we played together until the world of ifrit fell and the sun set on Cape Terrigan a final time. This is why I’m so in love with this new server because I’m making friends just like this and repaying the generosity that was shown me so many years ago.
