Nah they have to fit into some sort of victim group to claim moral superiority via identity. I just ignore it entirely and give zero preference and treat everyone the same. Tends to piss off the alphabet mafia who are used to having special privilege status.
As for video games, I just avoid any of them that are attempting to preach or have been infected by they/them's. All the virtue signaling has made them incredibly easy to spot. I find myself playing lots of older games, indie games or games developed by foreign studios.

they cite 0.6% of US population identify this way, which does seem disproportional to how much people talk about it, but I find similarities with all minorities who want a fairer shake and stronger voice.

It's more about how they classify their data. Essentially anyone who is homosexual and plays the opposite gender role can be put into that category. All your gay bottoms and butch lesbians basically. Also anyone who experimented around in their younger years or has some of the more "non standard" fetish's would fit into that category. If some dude liked to dress up like a baby and have a girl dominate him and spank him, they would attempt to classify him as "trans" even though it's just a straight dude.

Yup, I literally have never meet a trans people outside of online community and celebrity. let alone men cosplaying as women in women's bathroom creeping people. Cosplayers exist in anime conventions for entertainment, that's it.
And people are acting like this is one of the most important issues in the world. Then it turns out that it's 0.6%!
I'd rather go fight dictatorship and poverty before worry about the 0.6%.
Edit: okay, maybe once, when I travel to the UK I met someone on street who is probably a trans. Just once though.
I thought it was a super novel thing that I finally meet first trans after several decades of life. Never feel threatened by such small amount of population that barely affect my life.
Edit2: Also, before some anti-woke respond with "but woke started the war", I've critized woke and Kotaku for making a big fuss pages ago.

Here is something really really amusing.
The Oblivion remaster was made in China, this pinnacle of member berry western video game culture was remastered with Chinese developers (with oversight from Bethesda).
The credits for the remaster lists all the people who worked on the original game, to obfuscate that the remaster wasn't made in the west at all. Which is why there are so few modern audience changes.
It was made by a Shanghai company called Virtuos studios, with oversight from Bethesda. They created almost all fo the textures, which is 95% of what the remaster is.
Why? because they are not infected with woke ideology, they are not unionized, they work for cheap and they work long hours to get the product finished on schedule. So the high cost is even less acceptable than before!

The game was actually made by the paris studio of Virtuos, with help obviously from it's other studios. (You can see this from minute 1:05 of the video you posted).

Virtuos is a Chinese company with a few minor offices around the world in western nations (lets be honest here, Bethesda would not be outsourcing unless it was for cheap labor), and if you check the names of the graphics artists that worked on the remaster itself they are almost all Chinese. As said, Bethesda and Virtuos themselves love to hide what they are doing but it's obvious what they are actually doing cause they are not allows to not credit people.
Bethesda did the same thing with Starfield, except that time they outsourced the majority of the texture and model work to Indian sweatshops.
As western game developers price themselves out of the market, the companies making the games look for cheap labor opportunities elsewhere.

I don't think they try to hide lol. Go to any outsource studio's website they'll have a big list of "our client" or "our project" on the first page.
Being able to land a contract and participate in big name projects is the best promotion for those outsource studios. It's not something to be shameful, it's glory.
Edit: Also, putting names on credit is not a law requirement. Outsource studios generally want to appear on the credit for promotion purpose but if they really want to hide their work, they can choose not to appear. Artists are just employees of the company so they can't always make decision on those matters.
Basically, there are no reason nor evidence that virtuos wants to hide anything.

If you check the credits for the remaster all the names shown first are the people who made the original game many years ago, not the remaster that was just created by mostly Chinese people.
That's hiding it, and they hide it cause they know it's a beloved western game from an era when the west was the master of making video games. So creating a remaster of it, made in china is not going to be well accepted if widely known.
It's akin to American flag t-shirts made in China.

So... I have been increasingly frustrated with new games over years. I feel like so much effort it placed on graphics, lighting, art style, ect and maybe 10% of that effort is placed into gameplay, controls, and story.
My latest purchase was Visions of Mana, which I was pretty excited for. Secret of Mana is in my top 5 all time, I've played Seiken Densetsu 3 translated and while I didn't think it was as good as Secret of Mana, it was still extremely enjoyable. I skipped Trials of Mana since I had already played Seiken Densetsu 3. Vision is just bad. The english voice acting was awful, the characters were bland/generic or just stupid, and I was 3hrs into the game and all I was doing to running 30seconds between CS. Felt like a slightly interactive shitty anime.
Hogwarts Legacy, Visions of Mana, Baldur's Gate 3, Starfield... I felt like all of these super hyped games were absolute duds. Final Fantasy 16 is coming to PC in a few weeks and I'm not sure if I even want to try it anymore. I've heard people say not great things about it.
I know I'm just venting a bit here, but it really sucks being excited for a new game and then the crushing disappointment when it's not fun.
