New games suck... or is it just me?

I just picked up Nier Automata and Nier Replicant on Steam sale last night. I watched most of the anime on Crunchyroll that was produced by SE and was blown away by it. I was surprised how close that anime story followed what I've seen in FF14. I didn't want to finish the anime and possibly ruin the ending to the game.
Hopefully it's good. I got FF16 to get through first tho.
Automata is their best entry, Replicant was a step back.
The woke crowd is upset over this comment from the Sabre Interactive CEO (Space Marine 2):

I don't need to, you are the one claiming its him. Posting a screenshot, no less. Not even a verifiable link. Looks pretty sus to me. Why would the CEO of a gaming division casually try to create controversy? And why mention Wukong? Try to do your homework before posting your conspiracies.

It's typical political strategy lol. Separate "good game Dev(stellar blade, wukong)" with "bad game Dev(DEI, blackrock). Then fight the bad ones while praising the good ones.

Look at the proportion of the eyes, see the difference? there is no way that "female by eastern Dev" is anyway "normal looking female".....
(I didn't criticize artists for beautifying female faces, it's literally their job to beautify images. I am only against the statement saying Eve represents vast majority of people irl. )

Maybe you should use your eyes and brain before going "KUHN-SPEEEEE-RAAA-SEEEEEEEEE", just a thought? I know that is a tall task for you, but I believe in you.
So... I have been increasingly frustrated with new games over years. I feel like so much effort it placed on graphics, lighting, art style, ect and maybe 10% of that effort is placed into gameplay, controls, and story.
My latest purchase was Visions of Mana, which I was pretty excited for. Secret of Mana is in my top 5 all time, I've played Seiken Densetsu 3 translated and while I didn't think it was as good as Secret of Mana, it was still extremely enjoyable. I skipped Trials of Mana since I had already played Seiken Densetsu 3. Vision is just bad. The english voice acting was awful, the characters were bland/generic or just stupid, and I was 3hrs into the game and all I was doing to running 30seconds between CS. Felt like a slightly interactive shitty anime.
Hogwarts Legacy, Visions of Mana, Baldur's Gate 3, Starfield... I felt like all of these super hyped games were absolute duds. Final Fantasy 16 is coming to PC in a few weeks and I'm not sure if I even want to try it anymore. I've heard people say not great things about it.
I know I'm just venting a bit here, but it really sucks being excited for a new game and then the crushing disappointment when it's not fun.
