Sortie Release - Info

Quote: Having an easy plan to execute is the key.
What's the easy plan? Do tell.
Set up: WAR, DRK, RDM, BRD, COR, WHM
Buff at First Thingy.
COR goes to B solos 5 Fire elementals, everyone else runs south to D boss ramp. RDM solos 3 Acuex he pulls while running south. DDs 4 step Formors. Zerg D.
Flee to H, full SP boss, double march, Asylum. CC BRD after they SP.
A boss > B boss > run to C boss, MB 3 skeles > C boss.
Run to G, prep chest > Kill boss, if BRD has SPs back use them otherwise just kill with normal buffs.
If BRD SPs were used at G boss, flee to F boss while they are still up. If BRD timers aren't close to being ready do E boss, then F boss. Either way WC before F as SPs make him much easier especially if you get asylum back.
Kite F boss when fetters spawn. (one DD should be /drg to make this easy) Kiter stays at 21 yalms.
After bosses, re-enter F and do Naak. You can skip all basement NMs to save time. Just be ready to kite Dhartok when stacks add up.

We do essentially the same as above, but if you have a static (and therefore can rely upon people having the same shards every time) we prefer to do H first with 1hrs, that way we know 1hrs will be up for the end. It also helps us to do more bosses with 5 songs, and have Clarion Call up by the time you fight B (and potentially lose your 5th song and to always have SV for G and F.
As such, our plan goes H (come in with H shard) -> CDAB -> E -> (SV)G -> F
You can split up for objectives but we found that it only takes ~30 seconds per set of objectives to just do them right before the boss, so we just grab a few of whatever enemy and do their objective right before we go to fight them (for ABCD).
We prefer to spend extra time fighting basement minis (for seal to fight Aminon) or upstairs minis (for muffins) with extra time so we pretty much never fight Naakuals. Though we don't always have all that much extra time, depending on luck with NM and bitzer placements, how much we screwed up, etc.

We do DCBA -> EGHF
we do the objectives on the ramps, while running the loop.
with the exception of B we do that on umbrils with haunt, negates doom.
Only basement metal we stop for is botulus, pull to boss ramp for extra time saved on buffing.
BRD COR SAM MNK WHM RDM
EDIT:
start
bolters, mazurka
Full Buff at D obj
Redo rolls at C obj
--mazurka--
Redo songs at B, umbril. Rolls inside B boss
Maybe songs at A redo rolls
Botulus redo songs and rolls
G boss redo rolls
--Mazurka--
D boss SP songs redo rolls *we also use double march, minuet minuet madrigal
pop wildcard during fight, asylum when fetters appear on the dd group
F boss cancel protect/shell? redo rolls
We want to start with F boss but our 6th swaps.

It's the exact same as HM, we've done it (once).

How do you like MNK in sortie? This is an interesting set-up and would be interested in testing it out! Thank you!

How do you like MNK in sortie? This is an interesting set-up and would be interested in testing it out! Thank you! Our E boss goes very fast with
ageha/ragingfists -> kagero (liquification) > howling/something when footwork is up (fusion)-> shoha/blackhalo/savageblade (light) -> fudo (double light)
On nights with our actual brd or Cor or both out I play those too and our MNK does 2/3 multi steps on D
Our MNK was mostly using God hands until stage 4 which does a lot of white damage and helps for darkness sc bosses
To really play MNK well in sortie however you need to sc for maximum damage. Fully buffed TK hits in the 80k+ range sometimes hitting 99999
Will add more later

Is there a definite method to get the chest from E NM?

Is there a definite method to get the chest from E NM?
We've missed it twice recently after months and months of never missing it.
First time the only thing that seemed odd was Leaden did a 99999 SC damage.
Second time our RDM DCed so we only had 5 players on him.
Our strat is WAR tanks, everyone else on its ***. Stun his TP moves and kill with leaden spam.

Is there a definite method to get the chest from E NM? I think the consensus is damage from behind ~50%
Not including sc damage
Sc damage can get pretty high as it takes a lot of magic damage.
Leaden salute is the key to reducing/saving time on this nm.
Hybrids can pull hate if there is not a strong tank
Our whm has kinda taken on this roll over the mnk.
I generally use kagero on this nm

While this is not definitive, this method has never failed us. Sanguine Blade spam from behind until it is at ~%60 hp. Then everyone can unload on it with there best WS that do not chain. My sanguine blade hits for 30k~60k (depending on what supports we have that day). The benefit is that Sanguine Blade generates very little to no enmity. This gives enough time for any "tank" (we use a WAR or DNC depending on who came) to generate enough enmity to hold the mob while the rest of the party goes ham at 60%.
The fight normally takes us 1~2 minutes but sometimes the blob starts with a charm...

I generally use kagero on this nm I pull on war, ws maybe once or twice and voke for hate. Last time I kept hate the whole time. The bard and cor were wsing behind, both using savage, both geared well. I don't know how I would have done 50% or more dmg from the war.
Really frustrated with this.

Savage is a brave choice elemental ws are less hate generation
Cor should for sure be using wildfire or leaden it's way less hate and more damage
War provoke is probably it's best role in this fight, is there a solid elemental option for war?

Can you get the chest from the E NM using magic burst damage, or does it need to be weaponskill damage?
By K123 2023-10-23 13:40:21
WAR tanks, everyone else on its ***. Stun his TP moves and kill with leaden spam. This is the only way to get KI 100% of the time. So many pugs didn't listen/trust me on this and we had to kill it twice, doing this way the 2nd time, to get it. No point risking not doing this if you have a WAR and RDM in your set up.

idk about the burst question, but I know if do more SC damage then WS damage then you will not be seeing any chest.

Depends on buffs\gear but WAR has access to Sanguine Blade and Raiden Thrust, which can both do decent damage (~30k).
If you let the WAR SB twice, they should have no issues holding hate.

In my experience, the 50% damage from behind is not the only component. We have done all WS damage from behind but also bouncing hate between two DPS, which lead to no chest. Also, you may be loosing hate during a long cast (especially if you are using Addle or Pining Nocturne) and that my not count WS damage from behind even if the mob doesn't change the direction it is facing.

So which addon/plugin/stuff allows you to know where the Bitzer spawned, the second you enter the basement?
I saw a guy in my PUG do that the other day, and no, he wasn't warping around. He just knew the second he entered the basement.
If you're not comfortable talking about that in public, feel free to send me a DM!

I heard there is a more nadvanced version of the mini map? Ffxidb
That might be able to see it from a distance further than 40ish
And given experience you could probably predict where it is by where it's not.
Cloud splitter probably viable never seen fully geared sanquine numbers with a sash or a obi.
But a singular war using voke warcry will generally be your tank, if that's all you have.
Our whm with enmity set does a really good job with flash.
And the mnk also does fairly well without engaging weaponskill
If we use hybrids or regular ws... Without super jump on the dd that did things get complicated

While I cant find the addon you're talking about, I found other addons that do a similar thing, and it comes with a big warning about packet injection that could get you banned.
Whoever was in your PUG openly talking in game about knowing where the Bitzer spawned is a *** idiot.

Nevermind, not mappy then.

Yes, I forgot about clousplitter. I blame the WARs that never use it...

As long as the dd is subbing drg and has a decent -enmity set for WS and TP (WS more useful) they can do it with physical WS.
Do that on on Sam sometimes with fudo/mumei and a trust tank when low manning.

So I guess nobody is feeling confident enough to disclose the details on how this thing works, the one to tell where the Bitzer spawned the second you zone into basement.
I haven't received a single Private Message about it.
Guess people are afraid I would report them or sign their names into a magical database of "bad people" that I would obviously be submitting to Square Enix, lol?

Broad strokes; assuming this is OK to mention publicly since it's general packet stuff/not botting. 0x00E is the normal NPC update packet that contains information about nearby enemies. If you know a given monster's index, you can inject a 0x016 and the server will respond with a 0x00E even though you're not in range for it, which you can use to get location information. I imagine it would be incredibly easy for SE to track this if they wanted since they could see that a 0x00E was sent for an entity that was 18 miles away from you.

Easier than that even, since there's never any legitimate reason for the client to send an 0x016 for the Bitzer. But ya, that's almost certainly how they're doing it. Also possible to change your target in outgoing 0x15 to the bitzer(if server believes you have something targeted it sends constant updates for it).
I don't really expect them to prioritize something like this, since people have used similar for nyzul lamps and it's been around since the days of camping sandworm/DI. But it is very easy to detect if they wanted to.
Either way, once client receives the 0x0E packet you can either parse the position out of the packet directly or use a visual tool like apradar or mappy to show it on the map since it'll be in memory.

ffxidb pulls data much further than 40', it just set as a visual limit. if you're concerned about 0x0E getting you banned, I would recommend deleting ffxidb asap, though since its pretty commonly used, it's 'meh idc' from me.
