I can't speak for all Trump supporters obviously, but as I said before, it's not that he doesn't say stupid things (because he certainly does), it's that the quotes that are most used against him are usually the ones that are either taken literally when they were obviously not meant to be or just completely taken out of context when the context is readily available. So yeah, it's going to sound like we're constantly trying to give alternate explanations because, just like yesterday, you guys insist on choosing the worst hills to die on.
