Job - Dragoon level 40

Bounding Boots - Level 7 DEF:3 DEX +3 AGI +3
Mountain Gaiter- Level 38 DEF:7 STR +1 INT +2 Spell Interupt Down 5%

I'm thinking about using the Gaiters, but need some reassurance. Losing the 3 DEX will cost me 1.5 accuracy I believe. DEX nor AGI are modifies in double thrust but strenght is.

The gaiters would give me an extra strength, and an extra spell interupt for when I'm soloing with /nin.

I already have some good strenght pieces like olibanum satchet, spike necklace, and cassie earring. I'm using battle gloves for the accuracy. Perhaps I would feel better with the loss of accuracy if I had a peacock charm, but I don't miss much when soloing fields of valor pages. Any thoughts?

WS/Cast in Gaiters, TP in Bounding.

3 DEX would cost you 2.25 Accuracy (For 2-handed weapons 1DEX=0.75 Acc, same for STR/Att).

Personally, I'd DEX+ for TP then STR+ for WS until Penta, then maybe toss in some DEX (I'm not all too familiar with DRG, so don't take this as perfectly solid advice XD)

I think I used Bounding Boots all the way to 66. There wasn't anything better that I saw when leveling. (Not counting Jump macro pieces and WS pieces.)

You'll benefit more from 3 DEX than 1 STR for both TP and WS in all likelihood (WS always for Penta and/or uncapped ACC, TP when uncapped ACC), and you should really be soloing /WHM /RDM /BLM or /BLU.

Go with attk/acc > str for TP. Macro in your STR pieces for WS. I've asked this too.

BBoots for TP and Gaiters for WS.

Still need some ACC for Double Thrust to ensure both attacks land for more dmg.

In equal quantities sure, STR for WS isn't a bad idea if you've got high ACC. But this is 1 STR vs 3 DEX, it's a clear winner for Bounding Boots.

well I've always just been used to /nin while soloing with other jobs, especially since I have a genin earring for the +4 agi. I know wyverns do different stuff with different subjobs, so in my cases where I'm soloing EP, DC, and T on FoV pages, which /sub is more effective?

When soloing you always /mage. Which job depends on the exact situation and which you have leveled, but generally /BLU > /WHM /RDM.

If you didn't already know this, I'd advise you take a look at a DRG guide or two to learn about your new best friend; healing breath.

Well I'm in the works of hitting 75 on mine, but I was told /rdm was reserved until 65+

/blu will let you do VT-IT with ease.

/RDM is applicable from the moment you have more than two elemental barspells (6 MP). If you don't have /BLU and don't need -na from WHM it's arguably your best option. It's also your best sub in any /mage situation where you don't need -na but want Healing Breath between fights, all /BLU gives you for that is Cocoon and Pollen if you set the latter (should always set the former for DRG/BLU).

I've never had pollen set. I used Foot Kick or Power Attack since they're the low MP use.

I can see /rdm if you wanna do page 5 in Altep, but for me it didn't work out so well.

/blu I had faster casted enfeebs like slow and acc down which helped me a lot against IT+

I'd use Bounding Boots over Mountain Gaiters. Only switch in the gaiters for ws'ing on Penta if you're at/near cap on acc.
