It's already confirmed that with Venus orb the thud will give 5 mil to the leader.

You can get these 5M with a mars orb as well. I got them on my second mars orb. Don't remember if it was a thud or something else.

And after waiting for hours got teleported to some farther part of the map with most of the doors closed so the way I initially tried to get to the mobs pouring in failed... by the time I went back around they had retreated without getting past the very initial moat so absolutely no credit <.<

And I believe others have said that the gil doesn't go to the party leader, but the person who hits the gold box. It isn't as satisfying as destroying mobs, but it should be enough to get credit for participation and that lovely silver voucher.

You technically could create a lua to pop the temp items when get them and never actually have to be present for the fighting. I got credit on my first one without touching a monster, but I used temp items.

ah didn't realize just items would do it. Still kind of shitty these days. Takes hours for them to build up and then awhile for them to travel there

Nope. You can get the mimic on the first try and there is no thud. It's 100% luck.

Well I'd stop after 9 for sure and would argue stopping at regular thud works decently too
