Hey guys, looks like we've got ourselves a few new tidbits of info coming from our wacky friends over at Famitsu. In it we get our first peek at two new jobs, the Archer, the Lancer, and the Cook. Along with several new monster families (including some familiar looking raptors). We'll have more info from the new article later this week.
Well on a more serious note, it's awesome to have someone that is posting stuff from Famitsu, hopefully we can get a translation soon!
I'm not particularly excited by this news though to be honest, I mean, the antelope and goat things look pretty cool, but as far as jobs are concerned, it's kinda too soon for me to really be worried about it I guess, what with having no clue how the whole levelling/weapon system will actually work.
Depends on Color Temp. At Native colors it's purple, at 6500k it's More blue. At least as far as the eye is concerned. It's possible someone is red deficient colorblind too.
As for the actual subject, one thing I keep noticing is every PC or NPC has the same type of Armor on, chainmail with a random colored tunic over it. I hope this isn't indicative of the "Variety" in FFXIV.
finalfantasyxiv.com updated there website with the new mobs. info on a few of them and the names of some new jobs
(looks like) Marauder = Warrior Pugilist = Monk
still want to know what jobs are under "disciples of land" under *Tanner* in "disciples of hand (crafting jobs) it states "Which is why many who choose this profession dabble in -Hunting- & -Trapping- which many be jobs that are listed under "disciples of land" but we shall see. if so, Trapping job sounds very intersting. Hunting job should like THF
The Liam Neeson pic was because that's who I think the Galka looks like.
lmao at Scragg (I assume) changing the colour, I didn't even notice! (although the hue changed from 264 to 271, so it's still pretty much the same colour, but has brightness and saturation toned down <_<)
AAAAAnyway... Any word on a translation of article?
What the hell is that little awesome looking squirrel thingy at the bottom of the page?! Kinda like a crazy shark-squirrel. It's got a little furry fin and everything. Or maybe that's just one particularly sweet looking mohawk.

Looks like my question has been answered before I even finished posting :o
Interesting to see trapping in an MMO O_o Considering it involves setting traps and checking on them (often days) later I'm wondering how they'll implement this. Probably just make it another word for beastmaster or pokemon trainer <_<
just got the offical email on site update lol... anywho.... was reading email and read there were new screen shots as while so went to the screen shot section and was that there was infact players playing (privite beta maybe), but hopefully this means the public beta is closer to opening, so check emails frequently people ^^v
Edit: meaning PoL emails, not normal emails. to my understanding if ur a FFXI player u have piority over others into getting accepted first and the only way SE would know if u r infact a FFXI player is to register with the PoL email.
If Trapping is a "Disciple of the Land" as some are speculating, it will probably work similar to say, Mine laying in KotoR or Trap Making in Dragon Age. For creatures Trappable, you simply watch their pathing characteristics and set down an instant KO snare or some such. I wouldn't plan on it being incredibly deep, Though here's to hoping I'm wrong.
Hunting on the Other hand, that's simply "Farming", Kililng creatures repeatedly only for the spoils themselves.
As for the whole "Private Beta" The Development of an MMO is a labyrinthine web of Bugs, fixes and bugs resulting from the fixes that fixed the bugs from the previous fixed bugs. Soooo, it's obvious they are going to constantly have a developer testing session every so often to check the overall integrity and search for game breakers. I doubt it's a "Private Beta" in the sense that I doubt anyone but individuals with an intimate knowledge of the game are playing. On the plus side, the only Gameplay screenshot they added at least shows Crafting is going to (Visually at least) be a little more than orally pleasing a crystal while hoping you don't blow up your Damascus Ingots.
