You of all people should be pointing out that if it benefits us, it is worthy of emergency maintenance :p

Just to confirm, you can still use skill up books for skills on your sub-job that are not capped. Was curious if this might get nerfed as unintended consequence.

Thats a substandard google translation, assuming they mean the sub job skilling. Which is so not emergency maintenance important ffs.
For once Eiryl hit the answer with Impossible to Guage accuracy. They also partially fixed the besieged accolades menu but broke it further in other parts. SE is losing it here…

It goes without saying. See you knew it without me saying it.

Benefits player; EMERGENCY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Detrimental to player; eh we get to it when we get to it.

The proper translation btw;

Combat and magic skills would increase even when fighting monsters that were normally not strong enough to increase skill level.

The previous emergency maint was back in May:
Quote:
[Update Details]
The following issue has been addressed:

- Players may not receive the Records of Eminence objective in the Vana'Bout - Round 2 event.

- Dealing damage with a Wyvern, Avatar, Automaton, or pet via the Beastmaster's Charm/Call Beast abilities will not count towards the following objectives under "Vana'bout" in the Records of Eminence.

500 or more lightning damage(VBD)/500 or more wind damage(VBD)
500 or more fire damage(VBD)/500 or more light damage (VBD).

These sound like they are detrimental to player, albeit very minor (dont go on a pet job, duh), and they fixed it.

I dont think it was just subjobs getting skillups. I was getting skillups on a ML50 job that I only use for EP botting (aka: will never cap out because I'm always synced down) from lv70-80 targets.
I dont think this needed an emergency maint, but who knows how far down that goes.

Pretty cool, chrome can translate the JP viewer comments on the fly. So far just beseiged stuff.

Some funny reactions.
They are as upset at losing Cornelia as we are.
Bunch of Ridill and darter jokes when they showed 14 raid with Dragon's Aery.
Lots of nostalgia in the 14 raid easter eggs, seems generally well received.

Survey time!

Now we know why they don't design alliance content any more!

Tons of comments about Matsui-P trust, they love him

Followed by image of Cloud of Darkness from ROV

Maintenance mode officially over???

Something about BLU, not sure exactly but seems to have to do with time to reset spells?

Seems that's it for the survey

Dramatic reading? Something with the guest voice actress.

That's all from me, gotta run!

Well looks like scenario/quest showed up domestic and abroad. New expansion incoming! /joke

Notice the Kadokawa corp 2024 watermark once they got to the symphony and merch portion. The plot thickens.

Who are the 70% of people satisfied or indifferent lmao? I swear you people do more to sabotage this game than anyone or anything.

You don't understand from a business perspective why these surveys are put out. They NEED YOU to say BAD THINGS in order to GET RESOURCES. If you want to be helpful, tell the truth instead of trying to be buds with the development..."team".

Regardless it seems they may be finally picking some of the low hanging fruit at least.

IMHO, SE should simply shut down the ICU where FFXI is hosted and focus all their resources in FF14 mobile, that will put FFXI in shame.

The defunct is already smelling pretty bad

Maybe this is the optimist in me but It was interesting reading the results and looks on paper like a promising next year/s ahead.

I'm sure there is several people here, reddit, discord etc that will read into it that a large chunk is unhappy and/or just multibox.

I've said it a million times before, the game isn't going anywhere. Of course myself like the next guy want more for the game, like a modernised engine so we not held back by legacy like Playonline but from my decade working in IT with legacy, it's a very consuming process.

I'm fairly certain the continuing use of PlayOnline is contractual.

They already merged the subscription and payment processes with XIV. The game can already be launched without PoL (private servers).

There isn't anything technical that requires POL anymore.

Its possible, sort of on "retail" too, there is a github project that got it working by running a local node JS server which handles the handshake to the server. I might be misinformed on all the details.

No, that just cuts out some of the delay between clicking "Play" in PoL and the game launching. The PoL proxy is referring to the handshake PoL->XI before XI launches. You still need PoL.

Anyone know what is the soundtrack they're playing in the background? It sounds like snes version of the ffxi soundtrack

It's nice tuning in and seeing everyone's energy. I thought Matsui retired, or he just stepped down from producer? Seeing him next to Fujito reminds me of their monthly videos every update check ins during covid time that looked like they were filmed on a 480p webcam, good times.

Looks like there's some exciting things coming up. New battlefield and Limbus pretty much guarantees new gear for us to get stronger and likely more going forward

I'd be curious to see how the satisfaction results break down among solo/PUG/static players.

Was anyone able to translate the audio for Limbus? I'm curious if the plan is to add higher level Limbus or just make revisions to the existing system for newer players.

Great question actually, I just assumed it would be ilvl like everything else, can't imagine much demand for 75cap.

I only tuned in to a minute or two of the stream but it sounded like the Sandy theme, not sure if there were any others.

Correct, why I said "sort of", it's not completely cut out but is a much shorter process from my understanding. I don't personally use this as it's not that much of a big deal to click 2 buttons extra but I could see it being useful for multiboxers, or lazy people.

That being said, it would be nice getting rid of POL but it won't happen realistically.

I agree and would hope for the same, but with them it feels like you never know, so I'm hesitant to get too excited about it.

I haven't touched Limbus since the 75 days but I thought there was Lv99 version already? So this is an expansion in difficulty perhaps with E-VD ?

Yeah, they revamped it for lvl 99 after Voidwatch, but the ilvl 119 introduction has removed almost all relevance for the content aside from an accessory for certain jobs iirc.

The slide before Limbus said that it would be the start of "A new Content Plan". If the new content plan is just Limbus 3.0, or if there is more revamping in the pipeline is anyone's guess, but it seems promising.

"A New Content Plan" describing Limbus probably means they're making a modern version, sort of how Dyna Divergence was an updated separate content than old dyna.

Also, I think not having any more Master Trials on the horizon for lockstyle stuff taking up their time is a W!

Well now, that answer to #4 that i really wanted to see (the first picture) is even more depressing than I assumed it would be. Holy ***.

~98% of JP and 93% NA/EU people play with trust, multibox or static. (or only log in to have things merc'd, I guess) That's disgusting. Pick up is literally dead as ***.
