I don't get why they continue to show images of Ambuscade V2 and even used to demo it in videos when the rewards are disgracefully bad.
Nobody expects similar reward for v2 and v1 but they could improve it, for casual / solo players more than they currently do. Even if just boosting the one daily for v2 with extra hallmarks.
V2 VD = 300 points
V1 VD = 3600 points
V1 E = 600 points.
Also I didn't know Ambuscade was a proper word till today:
"To attack suddenly and without warning from a concealed place; ambush"
increase the effect of seals on Regular vs Intense. Such as- Seals triple the hallmarks return on Intense, have it result in 5x the hallmarks on Regular.

Becaise the developers are extremely bad at playing the game and they've only ever beaten a Volume 1 battle on video once.

Worse than the content itself (ambuscade v2) is to know that monthly considerable dev effort are spent on those new v2 instead putting effort on something that could benefit entire population, instead of benefiting just the smelly, gimp, filthy, vanilla, dirty casual that do this solo with trusts.

Or just increase it without any caveats. Seriously, 300 is an absolute joke.
By Taint 2020-09-29 07:49:19
Just make the rewards equal. They put their dev time on V2 and I don't think I've ever done one.
V1 - you know the deal, spam it per usual
V2 - try something new for fun

As was expected, very light October update but they promised a "big" one for november.
How big I wonder?
I think it's gonna be either the "final" update to Odyssey, or maybe maybe maybe the first batch of the "new content" with the Empyrean upgrades?
Maybe it's too early for that, but one galka can dream hey!

Well you get your pickaxe and you find the nearest sleeping Hume and you mine their head.

Information about opening Coffers in Odyssey verified:
https://forum.square-enix.com/ffxi/threads/353-%E6%95%99%E3%81%88%E3%81%A6%EF%BC%81%E9%96%8B%E7%99%BA%E3%81%95%E3%82%93%EF%BC%81?p=631040&viewfull=1#post631040
Quote: The unlock probability of the Odyssey box varies depending on the level of the key used, so it is definitely better to use a skeleton key, but the treasure hunter effect is not relevant.
In addition, the treasure hunter effect does not affect the item lottery probability after unlocking.

But this dont mean anything regarding mimics, that is the biggest danger on chests?
Personally, ive been having 15~16% mimics every skeleton key used. The question is if living key would have higher chance on spamming mimics.

But we all know better by now....

Did people really think TH affected lockpicking success or treasure obtained thereafter?
By Pantafernando 2020-10-05 12:55:48
There was a discussion on odyssey thread comparing using a 99 ThF or a lower lv THF mule.
The discussion pointed that the low lv mule would have worse performance than a full lvled THF, and people says maybe it was due TH trait.
Im not sure what was the conclusion of that discussion

That has nothing to do with treasure Hunter level and more to do with the myth that mimic probability is based on level vs average level of monsters in zone. I.e. Lower level produces higher mimics vs areas with higher leveled enemies. That was always the old ffxiclopedia belief in the old coffer key zones but was never proven, though, that's not the question they really should have asked. We need to know if the chance of mimic is based on a key used or if it's simply a flat rate across any failure.
And get some clarification on Moogle Mastery

I can also vouch that a lv60 thief cant use living keys in odyssey-- I had to max it to 99 before being able to open chests

30% what (regarding sheol B, skelly)?
3 mimic every 10 chests? 3 mimics every 10 keys? 3 mimics every 10 failed attempts?
I think this is a bit high personally.

No, Galkas aren’t allowed to dream, only to mine. How do I mine for dreams? The same way you mine for fish, but only in shadow reign areas.

Last bit of info I'll post but this is amount of mimics for the last 115 chests of each type in each area. That's 345 chests per area, 1035 total chest for all areas...
Shoel A - Thief's tools 23/115, Living keys 22/115, Skeleton keys 19/115
Shoel B - Thief's tools 36/115, Living keys 32/115, Skeleton keys 34/115
Shoel C - Thief's tools 43/115, Living keys 43/115, Skeleton keys 41/115 Despite the relatively (?) small sample, your data seems to suggest that the Mimic rate is more or less the same across all keys and higher on latter sheols than former?

I'd just like to throw out there that it is within the realm of possibilities that *Success/Fail rate based on Key used* and *Chance of Mimic Spawning* could be completely separate terms and have nothing do with each other.
Mimic spawn chance could just as likely just be a static % and we are all conflating Mimic spawn chance with the failure to open a chest.
Just saying.
