America decided at Sandy Hook that their precious guns are more important than the lives of children so what's the *** point in meaningful debate at that point?
Because people will always kill people, even children killing children using other objects other than guns.

Look, I get it, you want to blame an inanimate object that has no way of committing mass murder unless an (supposedly) intelligent being uses it to commit mass murder. It's always better to blame the lightsaber gun when somebody uses it to kill other padawans people. It makes you feel better about your argument, I get it.

Never mind that people use other inanimate objects to commit mass murder than the object you...object about. *yeaaaaahhhhhh*

Anyways give it a day or two and the media will be back to bashing Trump. And this shooting will just be a memory.
A politically convenient memory. Like Sandy Hook. Or Orlando.

Where they only care about that shooting not for the victims, nor to condemn the person who did the attack, but the object used in the attack. And conveniently ignore other similar attacks using non-gun objects to carry out mass murder, like vehicles, or bombs, or knives, or sporks. Damn sporks!

I rather them be honest and say we don't care we just want your guns. Then they would be honest for once.

Right. The guy could have chucked sporks from his 33nd floor perch and killed just as many people.

The Mandalay Bay is a pretty prominent building here since it's at the furthest end of the strip away from the other taller building and I could see the hole on the side where the windows were broken on my way into my office earlier. It's disturbing but apparently we've decided this is an acceptable price to pay every so often (or monthly). It's horrific and sad but we're always just far enough removed that complacency moves back in quick enough.

But the demand for action seems like the most futile response each time. I think I'll live to see universal healthcare in the US before I see any kind of meaningful gun restrictions. Meanwhile, just sit and wait for this record to be broken.

Lack of proper gun control is bad m'kay

You have no idea what weapons were all involved or how they obtained m'kay
Liberals: you cant possibly round up 40 million illegal immigrants
Also liberals: we can totally confiscate 300 million + guns

I highly doubt you will ever see socialized medicine in the US, unless you are a veteran. Are you going to enlist in the army?

The cost of socialized medicine is too great, even for the US. Unless you want the substandard care you find in the UK, who is piggybacking off of the research of the US so they don't have to, but unfortunately for the US, we don't have anyone we can piggyback research off of. Unless you want to piggyback off of China....

The guy used automatic weapons.

Those are already banned.

Banning guns totally works!

Also liberals: Hitler is the only one that should have the guns.

Why have laws if they're just gonna get broken. Thanks Nausi but the NRA beat you to that one.

No, my point (as obvious as it is, since I spelled it out for you) is that people are going to kill others regardless of the tools they used to do so.

Bombs are much more effective way to kill and maim people. Ask any Boston Marathon survivor. Or any Iraq/Afghanistan vet.

Vehicles are much harder to stop killing people with than guns. Physics should tell you that at least.

Guns aren't the only weapon of choice. How come you aren't blaming the lightsaber? Why is your fixation only on guns, and guns alone? Do you honestly think that, by banning/destroying all guns, that all murders will go away? Or that there will never be anymore mass murders, or as many mass murders to occur as it currently has been?
