I have a feeling that at least on Volume 1 N-VD (particularly D and VD), if the Wyrm can do Spike Flail, it will be just like back in 2004. Dead people everywhere.

As practice for your DRG friendly month of ambu, I suggest everyone go kill dragons in all 3 Escha zones for the next few days to practice on what it may be like, like yeah everyone on every server Drg it up /blm /blu /sam /war /drk /pld figure it out before its out and make this better than the Frog!

if anything its going to be 1 drg/nin 1 dd/nin cor/nin brd/nin geo/nin (or /mage for blink) and a whm. rather flail it and absorb than deal with gnarly breath attacks

Honestly /NIN wont be needed. I basically solo'd Quetz for my half of my 50k beads without the campaign. I stayed on his tail the whole time in a hybrid set and just spammed sonic thrust.

The damage mitigation was just rediculous. I did have Phalanx 2 as well.

50%DT+Capped AC + Habile Mazraq= Sexiness.

I also remember reading somewhere on BG that every 3 points of killer effect = -1 DT against that family.

If memory serves, it'd be 1/2 on regular mobs, NMs 1/3 or something. And that is with Ancient Circle active. Without it active 0 DT or damage dealt+; just intimidation.

I seem to recall when I first started the DT/dmg dealt boost was active permanently before SE decided killer traits were too powerful and nerf'd it on players.

Vorseals....

How much of a damage reduction do you expect vorseals to have? Even without them the bonuses I spoke of are pretty significant.

If anything the vorseals helped my trusts survival, more than they helped my own imo.

I want to say base ja gives a 15% damage reduction, and job points may give an extra 20% reduction.

Not including dragon killer jt/gear

No idea what it caps at.

Dragonkiller/Habile look to be 30% all together. I wanna say that is another 10% reduction.

3%-dt w/e 11/11 def 11/11 Vit 11/11 Agi + HP/MP+ regen/refresh/acc++

it may not make a whole world of diff like Abyssites and atmacite do, but the over all factors weigh enough to offset Escha vs Ambu

Not going to say you are wrong, I simply cant make that argument, just pointing out it is easier in escha with all the extra help.
Now, can suggest go take off all your vorseals and do the same fight and find out if the over all fight is just as easy fast and w/e.

So while I get this is pretty much a joke/troll thread, it got me thinking, I don't actually have a perfect understanding of how Circles and killer traits, particularly from a damage perspective, work. I basically know that I pop Ancient Circle with my AF+3 legs snapshotted in, and proceed to kick Kouryu's *** with a visibly noticeable damage increase. So a few questions maybe someone knows the answer to. For all cases assume the enemy counts as a NM dragon.

1.) What is the damage increase with the circle up and a 50% bonus from snapshotted gear?

2.) How does the + killer from things like Habile Mazrak and Founder's gear impact this? Big enough to drop from a superior weapon to use on a Dragon for pure offensive purposes?

3.) Is the amount of +killer snapshotted upon circle use, or does it need to be actively worn?

There's a lot of good Killer effect testing by Braden here, with a Dragoon focus. iirc, his DPS spreadsheets take into account Founder's Gear and circle bonuses.

You need to actively wear Dragon Killer+ gear.

Cliff's notes: I need a line in my lua that keeps Founder's breastplate on at all times while Ancient Circle is up. I imagine I am probably late to that party...

Where even would the best place be to farm 10 dragons for the KI?

I don't remember if the Riverne is high enough level to grant KI.

Yea theres level 105 or so puks in there. Instead of dropping down the waterfall and heading to the aery, make a left at the bottom of the waterfall and theres some crawlers and puks of that level there.
