such a thin margin. i can see recounts and probably some contesting. probably even a second vote. seems unreal that it could happen.

Well Mr Cameron has to by law call article 50. That we are going to contest for 2 years to leave.
But yes it's so small I can see recounts. Lots of Europe members are saying that the EUROPEAN is under direct threat now. Several other nations said that if we voted to leave they would also hold referendums.
Other news outlets calling it now, Birmingham really was the decider then.
The European Union's years are numbered. This is going to have a MASSIVE impact on other European nations and their own pushes for independence. Germany and/or France could very well be next... then it's really game over for this failure of an experiment.

a lot of economist have said for the last few years that the larger economies leaving, but the smaller ones staying would be more beneficial. hopefully it'll work out.

On a side note, this also sets a precedent for a second Scottish referendum.
Scotland quite decisively voted to remain. There might be calls for another Scottish independence they said that this might give them another chance and rightly so.
The next 2 years on European union affairs are going to be rough. The horrible irony is that the win is largely being put on immigration policy. Which many believe they won't be able to deliver yeah, it's gonna be weird since so many who voted for an independent scotland voted for staying in the eu. during that vote cameron played scotlands access to the eu as dependent on staying in the union.
so it'll be interesting to see in that vote which union they prefer. union jack or european union. Welly well well... I hope you can make Britain more awesome. Despite the current decline.

Brussel's is in the driver's seat, the UK voted to leave but the EU owes them nothing and doesn't have to give in to anything, while the UK has to make a deal. It will probably take a full 2 years to actually leave. I guess now we have to decide our ambassador of Sorts.

Wishful thinking at best, and severely overstating "catastrophic failures." The EU is going to win the trade negotiations, I still don't see any positives of causing a recession for your country.
