Children under 18 have to technically have a parent buy the game for them.
Thankfully it's not like that over here, it's just a recommended age

OW is selling like crap on console to a "broader" Rated T audience than Rated M games do.
It's only selling extremely well on PC and still MGS5 on console made more money in 24 hours than OW in 1 month. Almost.
Because people have been playing Metal Gear Solid for almost 20 years now

Diablo 3 says hello. Ive heard them mention Diablo3 on those OF but they fail to consider how cheap dev costs are for such a game vs those of OW. OW is abviously a much more expensive game.

It is very obvious that consoles players are not their main focus.
PC gets more frequent updates, better balancing, and let's not forget that there are custom Overwatch PC accessories. Where are the Overwatch custom controllers?
I wouldn't go so far as to say they don't give a ***about console peasants, but it does seem pretty clear that the console version was an afterthought, an easy enough to port over project to tack on some extra sales at release PLUS I think a big reason it even got a console release was just to crush out that last little bit of what would have been Battleborn's playerbase.

It doesn't REALLY get enforced here anyway. Only when someones manager is around.

Only ones who actually pay attention to this are those who just want to ban games altogether. Especially the evil Jack Thompson.

Which bugs the living ***out of me. Being console M+KB supported OW would be the same exact HQ game as on PC but minus all the "hax/cheaters" accusations. Not only that but on console nobody is running any 180fps 4k resolution advantages.
Console OW in some ways would be even better than Pc OW w/ M+KB support >_>;

Plenty of ways to cheat on consoles.
Jesus christ, people really play at 180FPS? I get sick looking at anything over 120 for more than a minute or two.

Yeah the pro players definitely have some serious PC hardware.

Btw - I use XIM4 and it's total poop compared to real M+KB cuz it's analog movement. Meaning I cant move my mouse 4" slowly/quickly back and forth and wind up aiming in the same location. It's using analog stick aim instead. Sucks.

People in Japan probably don't know Blizzard since most of their products are for PC and they're mainly a console country. It makes sense to ask a HUGE console name like SE to publish it for them.

I see nothing wrong with having SE deliver OW to JP.
it is not uncommon to have another company help out with distribution.
back in the day Eidos helped SE with FF7/8 when it was released to PC.
same kind of deal happens with companies bringing JP games to NA, s they also have to deal with localization if the original studio isnt up for the task.

The money and talent is all on console exclusives. So the PCMR concept, which makes sense, is still... meh nvm

If PC devs knew what they were doing, like Blizzard, they would be making alot more money across the board.

Yeah, investing time and money into the smaller portions of my target audience is such a good idea. I should totally stop focusing on the much larger playerbase.
Akson, you should really take some econ classes man, this stuff is basic.
And you know what, that isn't even getting into the rigmarole involved with getting games onto console in the first place. You do know that there are tons of different certifications and guidelines you have to adhere to when releasing a game on consoles, even more specific to multiple regions, that you simply get to ignore altogether with PC?
It really isn't cost effective for a company who already has a strong platform on PC to spend much time on console development when quite simply, they don't have to.

Rated M if just a PC exclusive game w/ all I suggested would have made Overwatch alot better. I understand the principle behind Rated T trying to maximize sales but it failed. Games like GoW, GTA, MGS have all proven that you dont need to water down "gun combat" gameplay just to be able to sell your game. If just for PC sake. Blizzard should ditch console and just make a better game on PC.

ofcourse sales would be bad on console, because people would just buy the pc version over the console version. duh.
I am not sure what you mean with watered down combat...
the game is all about combat.
heck, even splatoon is clean combat and fun as hell.

Figured I'd make this since we're talking about it anyway.
Main Website: http://www.playoverwatch.com
Overwatch is a team based FPS that centers around heroes who all have different abilities, strengths, and weaknesses. Players compete in one of three (as of the time of this post) game modes including King of the Hill, Point Capture, and Payload Escort.
Heroes: https://playoverwatch.com/en-us/heroes/
There are 21 heroes in the game, and they each fall into a category (Offense, Defense, Tank, or Support). These categories define their abilities and give you an idea of the role that they should be playing on the battlefield. This is by no means black and white for most characters, however most team compositions benefit greatly from a diverse setup of multiple roles of Hero. Quick hero overviews/guides can be found in this playlist: https://youtu.be/sVwl1KmefiI?list=PLOW3wTM0_w5_CVjO9q3r5dlTpDf9udg8s
A set of cinematic shorts featuring some of the heroes of Overwatch can be found here:

And a set of comics can be found here:
Business Model: https://playoverwatch.com/en-us/buy/
Overwatch follows a Buy-to-Play model, meaning you need to purchase the game ($40-$80 on PC depending on which edition, $60-$80 on console) to play. The game features an in-game currency system that is earned through play, however it is possible that in the future this becomes buyable with real money as well (as of now, there has been no indication of this). All Heroes released post-launch will be free and require no additional monetary investment. Any other potential DLC or microtransactions have yet to be seen or spoken about.
It's a pretty awesome game, can't wait to play more on May 24th!
