I've actually added things to the conversation. Occasionally taking time away from it to address the nothingness coming from you and others.

Become a politician, Altima. That way all the people who do nothing but jab at you can technically be on topic.

Oh no, I've been known to have my fair share of "us vs. them" pointless arguments. Sometimes it's just worth pointing out when it has become the rule rather than the exception. I get the feeling that if we were in the mansion in Beauty and the Beast, then we would end up as a bunch of pots and kettles.

I think we've all had our fair share of pointless arguments here, and probably ones that most of us a double-take and have wondered why we participated in the the first place in retrospect. Yes, we're probably a group of pot-kettlers. We're probably going to have to shuck quite a few notions of each other to really make the new rule revisions of P&R effective.

So, with that, I apologize specifically to you, and you alone, for drawing conclusions from some of the people on here you have shown support for, which might not be entirely a reflection on you, and their opinions on certain topics that you might not be completely in-line with or were ignorant of.

To get back to politics:
Let's talk about the relationship between America and UK.

Obama is currently on his goodbye-tour and visited London (his 5th time) where he repeated his position against a Brexit.

His key arguments against a Brexit was that that UK would be put at the end of the queue for trade talks. Currently US and Europe negotiate TTIP and that will continue to get all the focus even after a Brexit.

To me it looks like the personal relationship between Obama and Cameron are pretty good. They had quite a few light-hearted events together.

So back to the theme I proposed: How does the broader political class view the other side, and what do the citizen think of each other? Would they call the others Family, Friends, allies, partners?

Tomorrow he will come to Germany, so another topic is secured.

'The Special Relationship' is a *** joke, a ponzy phrase used to score hollow political capital.

TTIP should be boycotted and is partially the reason the 'Brexit' campaign has grown to the extent it has, TTIP and it's other equivalents around the world (TPPA) as shady to say the least. The best things Britain has done in recent years were outright refusing to join the single currency and it's current move to divorce from the failed socialist experiment that is the EU. They can posture all they want but the other European nations need Britain more than Britain needs them, Germany aside as it is pretty much holding the experiment aloft by itself (for how much longer though). 'Brexit' campaigners know the importance of solidifying trade ties in a globalized world over local interests, going into what is effectively economic seclusion, in an open world is idiotic.

Obama and Cameron are alike in the vein that they are both pathetically weak leaders. Obama's inexperience has been made apparent by the Republicans walking roughshod over many of his plans and Cameron has managed to take his party from winning a majority at the last election to being about as popular as necrophiliac-porn-wranglers. Cameron had the benefit of making his coalition partners, the liberals, take the fall for many of his unpopular decisions but now that he has no shield he has been found out and has been found wanting. 'Light-hearted' events are basically photo opportunities, PR stunts that have little indication on the machinations of a working relationship.

Outside the political sphere I'd like to think that Britons and Americans get along somewhat well. Misconceptions are still abound though, on both sides, and they will likely never go away.

Obama will play coy with Merkel and the German government because he knows all-too-well that German taxpayers and politicians are the only things, now that Britain is edging closer and closer to an EU-zone exit, keeping the system alive. If the single currency falls, which it logically should, it throws the TTIP on the bonfire and that doesn't bode well for socialist/neo-liberal aspirations going forward.

I still want to understand why "MILLIONS" of people are fleeing the democrats in multiple states and it doesn't make the news.

Democrats must control the news.

They can't find jobs because there are none and it is too expensive to live there. They aren't fleeing from actual Democrats. I mean really?

They are fleeing the horrible and unlivable situations that their policies have created. I am in awe that this needed to be explained.

Umm actually Detroit has become a ghost town due to the rapid decline in the past few decades.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Decline_of_Detroit

1950 the city was 83% white with a population of ~1.8 million.
2010 the city is 82% black with a population of ~700,000 and of those 23.1% are unemployed by national standards, which means real unemployment / underemployment are much higher. With all those people leaving and nobody coming in, much of that property was just left standing and empty. It's somewhere around 30% averaged across the entire city, some areas are indeed as high as 70%.

Now I'm sure progressives will now attempt to use this as a platform to launch an emotional attack and blame it all on those "Evil White European Male" overlords we keep hearing about. Ultimately the policies of the far left drove industry out of that city. Anyone who could afford to move shop to a more friendly environment did, only those who had sunk massive capital investments stayed and even those started relocating factories.

Talk about delusions...

I could go on but I think we all get the point!

oh look why on this page you must have your circle jerk buddy blinders on.

Saying that the Democratic party led to the downfall of Detroit does not automatically imply that all Democrats are corrupt, nor does the quip about being called a racist for opposing them imply that all Democrats are black. If you want anyone to take you seriously, lay off the extreme interpretations of people's posts.

It's not an extreme interpretation of his post, he's from Michigan and is regurgitating the exact same racist rhetoric that is spoken there. You want to be an arbitrator of reason, then you must take into consideration certain key words reflect a particular outlook.

When we're not talking about the UAW or factories shutting down and taking the jobs out of the state of Michigan and out of the country and we're only focusing solely on Detroit and African American neighborhoods as the cause, you should probably realize whats really being said.

But then again "I don't want to be called a racist" doesn't seem to throw the same red flag that "I don't mean no disrespect" indicates something disrespectful is about to be or was said, for you now does it.

If you want to be taken seriously as someone who is reasonable learn how to identify racist rhetoric. Cause if you don't you just come off as biased and patronizing.

is racist rhetoric?

I know full well people like you consider the facts to be racist, hence why I stopped short of posting what Saevel posted. (Damned if you do damn if you don't I guess.)

We need to? Do we really need to point out more Democrat failures? I mean.. I guess I am game, but I thought this was common knowledge. Especially from someone who.

So, I thought Obama was suppose to heal our relations with other countries that Bush supposedly destroyed?

Why are Britons and now Germans gathering to protest his arrival?

Quote:
http://hosted.ap.org/dynamic/stories/E/EU_GERMANY_US_PROTEST?SITE=AP&SECTION=HOME&TEMPLATE=DEFAULT&CTIME=2016-04-23-07-23-22
Germany (AP) -- Thousands of demonstrators have turned out in the German city of Hannover to protest a planned U.S.-Europe free trade agreement, a day before President Barack Obama arrives.

Police said Saturday that more than 20,000 people gathered for the demonstration.

Many in Germany regard the planned Trans-Atlantic Trade and Investment Partnership, or TTIP, with suspicion. Protesters Saturday carried placards with slogans such as "Yes We Can - Stop TTIP!"

Americans do want the TTIP, The British don't want it, and now the Germans DON'T want it..

Why doesn't anybody in the entire world understand we have to pass it before we know whats in it!

I mean it worked so well before right? They should all get on board an stop being so ignorant right? Obama knows what is best for them/us!
