The only version I've heard is "Abandon all hope, ye who enter here." But, I guess it is in that strange Italian language, so it could be up for interpretation. To me though, you switch up the words and it takes on a different meaning.
"Abandon all hope..." means all that hope you had needs to be abandoned, yo.
"All abandon hope..." means everybody should abandon some hope.
To me, the first one rings more true. Firstly, the sign is no longer a sweeping gesture and rather pointedly issues a direct warning to each individual who reads it. Secondly, "abandon all hope" is exponentially more bleak than just "abandon hope".
I'm derailing, but I gotta make a stand for lit nerds everywhere!
