My problem with Trump has always been the everyday people supporting him, feeding his ego and acknowledging how alive and well intolerance is in this country.

Its not that. I don't particularly like Trump because he is all ego. He says hateful things because he is a demagogue. All demagogues are hateful, its the nature of the beast.

People who score high in authoritarianism, when they feel threatened, look for strong leaders who promise to take whatever action necessary to protect them from outsiders and prevent the changes they fear.

I already said it had its share of problems and like any movement ended up with the fringe members causing problems.
