what needs to happen now is a FF6 remake in the style of FFIX.

Why would you want it in IX's style? I like both of those games, but that seems like an odd and very specific request.

^If not PS4 then at least make the character model like Dissidia's so it's not blurry as ***lol


Anyway, I really hope they keep all the events as they are and don't change the dialogue too much

They can expand upon things but I don't want them taking things away for no reason (such as the crossdressing scene etc, it was funny)

At least for the world map anyways, FFIX had the best world map screen (imho) of any of the FFs. Not sure what they'd do about towns/dungeons though (though some of IXs dungeons were pretty good though as well)

Having voice acting in the cut scenes only would be pretty cool. Having them on dialogs? We're only dreaming on that... Plenty of parts in the game has a major dialog talk. Like when you 1st leave Midgar and go to town to talk about the past.

I for one hope this will finally shut people up! It took 20 years, but you finally got your remake. Personally, I think were better games out there, even within the series.

The nostalgia held people so tight because it was the first game in the series to wow folks with the power of "next gen". Though I honestly never saw what others saw in it. People gushed forever about the graphics. Even back then, the graphics didn't impress me. Then again, my hierarchy for a game's worth goes Story > Mechanics/Control > Music/Sound effects (voice goes with that now) > Visual effects. For what it was, it was still a decent game. The story was a tad convoluted, but it got the job done. I will say flat out though, I have ALWAYS hated Cloud and Sephiroth. The emo pretty boy thing just doesn't charge these batteries.

Now, with everyone's sacred cow finally getting what the remake treatment, maybe better games will get some of that love as well. I myself am more looking forward to Bloodstained and some new IPs rather than holding on to nostalgia for a game that wasn't even top shelf in its own day almost 2 decades back.

And to people who allow themselves to be coerced into buying a game system for one game... "A fool and his money..."

FF7 and 13 are the only FF games I have never finished. Played 7 along time ago probably had 5 hours left and can't remember why I didn't finish it. I've always been going to replay it but I end up replaying other games instead.

13 was just horrible.

Two good thing about this. Hopefully, they don't screw it up and this brings about 1-6 remakes. I'd settle for just 6 since it is the best Final Fantasy game of all time.

Lastly, This gets Final Fantasy AS FAR AWAY FROM 13 and 15 AS POSSIBLE and they make NEW games that are true to the series!

Only seen trailers and such. Have my hopes up, but SE has a way of crushing them into the dirt then grinding with their heal.

So only current gen counts? Are you gonna say that PS4 doesn't count for 7 in 10-15 years?

I didn't realize ps4 was a handheld, guess my point is invalid.

It looks like a PS1 game (though a bit better) so it's basically a PS1 remake, who cares if it's a handheld

This shatters my expectations really. I was expecting, if it were to ever happen, just some upgraded graphics, maybe some additional content, and better UI. But this to me is essentially FF16 using the FF7 script. Its the next Final Fantasy game in the series, with current gen technology. Its surely a long, long way off, probably 2018, but it has definitely fulfilled the promise.

FFXV and its "pretty boiz army" sure looks totally different from what VII and VIII offered.

If they wanted to make something different, they'd finally use Basch-like main characters/story and would drop the fashion week theme used in nearly all of their games.

Was fun when I was 10, not so much now.

Well someone did say that they'd release a FFVII remake only when the company would really need it (financially).

Either they're greedy or FFXIV and FFXI weren't enough to pay back for the huge time wasted on Versus and other jokes.

Why would you buy a handheld to play as a console, though. Besides, a DS is never going to be able to run the FFVII remake I'm willing to pay money for.
