The 6th Ministry's Secret: A Summoner's Guide (v2)

I was looking for uses for my extra Apogee Crown now that path A is useless, and I have to admit I'd never really noticed path D as a Pet:DT option. This made me realize my Pet:DT set is woefully out of date.

I took a shot at revamping it, and I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. Dropping Selenian Cap makes me a lot more comfortable using this set more frequently.

I'm curious if I overlooked anything else for the set, anyone got any suggestions?

i Wanted to ask this set has 55% pet DA befor AM3 is even added to it could this work as a good volt BP set?

It works w/o AM3 up. But I think you should start changing Dbl+ gear for some BP+ gear. Mainly AF+3 Body, Apogee head or Feet, and maybe Merlinic Gloves with a BP+10 & Pet: Atk

I use this during AM3 and most times Im top parse or 1/3rd of the parse in my ls or pugs.

Use pergatory's calculator. Keep a consideration for acc total and what content you do, you may need to swap to reach higher amounts.

What is the absolute lowest effort -30 pact set I can make

Depending how spending gil is on your effort list, i would look for some baayami pieces. If you arent planning on using empy hat, accord hat +1 if available

According to BG it takes 12 seconds to get -4, that's plenty adequate for buffing and positioning in ambuscade pre first mew.

Gil obviously is no concern, but space and ability to sell it back is kinda irritating. Need to set up official loan service.

So the question becomes; How much lower can I get it, while still within the constraints of, no/minimal effort.

Gear wise, 30s is the min/cap.

The other 9 will come with some effort like empy head and some skill.

With master, youre set already gave you the max it can drop aside favor enhancement (skill and empy hat).

Adding more BPII wont drop it any further.

Job master, sancus sachet, baayami hands and legs. Beckoner's horn +1. Fill the rest of the slots with + skill until you hit at least 513 skill. That caps you at the normal 22s favor recast. to hit 21s requires much higher skill.

Job master gifts total 10 and can replace either of the previous categories, but the overall cap there is still -30.
the two baayami cap bpI and sancus gives you enough bpII to bring you up to 20 needed to cap with gifts at 30.

The last 10 to bring you past 30 is entirely from favor, which has 3 aspects to it. Skill total, +favor gear/gifts, and charge up mechanic.
To hit 22s recast you need 513 skill, the +1 gift and beckoner's horn+1's +3.
to hit 21s recast you need 670 skill, the gift and beck+1.

20s recast is currently impossible. It's assumed it will come with empy 119 +2/3 reforging.

Baayami is no effort. I was detailing what he needs. 513 skill plus 4 pieces of gear is stupid easy and should be considered the minimum effort for a master smn. He's making it more difficult for himself by not using baayami.

Ambuscade can also give some quick jps while still grabbing hallmarks gallantries

So thanks to Frod's... "gentle" prompting, I am re-evaluating Atomos's usefulness. It had been my understanding back in the day that Atomos was useless, so I didn't even bother making a macro/set for it. I'm now learning this isn't the case? Can someone help me catch up on what Atomos is good for and the situations you'd use him? Also what gear would best work with his unique ability.

The only thing you need for atomos is an 80/10 fastcast/quickcast set.

As for uses, my biggest go-to are the second tier dynamis divergence bosses, but anything that has a good self buff that your party members would appreciate is good.

Even with capped fast cast, Atomos is too slow to use in most situations. By the time you finish using him, the buff you stole has often already been re-applied. (Example: Try keeping Glassy Gorger's defense buff down with Atomos, it's almost impossible most of the time.)

Stolen buffs aren't something you can really rely on to save the party either, as they usually won't be up 100% of the time, so odds are you built your party up with the assumption of not having the stolen buff, making it unnecessary. This makes stealing defensive buffs generally not that great, and enemies with useful offensive buffs are pretty limited. (Belphegor can be pretty hilarious, though, if you let him use his MAB buff a bunch of times before stealing it.)

For the most part, the only time I'd consider using Atomos is when I'm acting in a purely support role, and Dynamis[D] is really the only time I can think of where that's true. The rest of the time, the group is better served by just continuing to pump out damage.

Does the new Caitsith Crown have any place in BP set? Not sure how it contends with a capped helios on physical...perhaps Flaming Crush?
