I was kidding, but you know it's coming. They foam at the mouth thinking of new ways to bring FF7 back.

I want to see some MC2's for some core characters other than Tyro. I saw them showing up in some later Cid's Missions, and if they are gonna make us use them the least they could do is unlock some 80 caps for them considering how low their base stats are.

MC2 for Cores do come out.

How long?

Questions:
Question 1: Which abilities are worth having more than one of? I personally have duplicates of Double Cut, Retaliation, and Curaga, but that is pretty much it.
Question 2: Which abilities are 'worth it'? Here are my notes so far -
1* Abilities: Sleep, Poison, Boost
These are worthwhile as there are not improved versions higher up the food chain. While there is "Venom attack" which can also give the Poison effect, that is a support ability and not a Black Magic- Black Magic works off magic and is easier to maximize.

2* Abilities: Double Cut, Retaliate
Both of these are for Reta-type schemes. Note that eventually you can use the 3* Tempo Flurry for an upgrade to Double cut.

Are any other 1* or 2* abilities worth making?
Similarly, are there any 4* or 5* ones that people shouldn't bother with? (Does anyone want my notes on 3* Abilities?)

Lifesiphon is your friend for pretty much any Melee strat, because it fills you Soul Break guage faster. I generally do not bother with Ninja/Samurai abilities because I do not have any good users. I like Dismissal a lot as well, but sometimes mobs are immune and so a Lifesiphon is going to be better. it's generally going to depend on your party makeup and Soul Breaks.

theres nothing to maximize, status effects are a set % of activation. 99% of the time if you need a status effect the best way to do it is via a Machinist shot or a Buster ability, this includes Sleep too.

Actually if they relaxed Umaro he would probably be some form of monk character and Gogo would probably be like Tyro except since he wouldn't have core stats since he's a main character he would probably have 4* everything instead of 5* everything.

Also, when using a magic type debuff you are wasting a DPS slot. Once you land the status effect, that slot is wasted. Buster and Shot moves at least keep on doing damage with repeated use. There are some exceptions, like if you need to do the sleep/nuke start with a Mage party.

So this just happened. Lightning is quickly becoming one of my strongest characters especially after drawing her Overture. So much excite! I also pulled 2 of Fang's polearms. These were all single pulls.

Yeah this Lightning relic banner hates me. Nothing but 3 pulls. Oh and Serah's Gloves lolz

So the Multiplayer beta is out in the JP version and it's pretty cool! (all dungeons are available in single player mode too)

All dungeons thus far are 0 stamina, 100 gil rewards.

You are allowed to select 2 of your own party members alongside 3 other players, granting a max party size of 8 members. There are little stamps you can select during battle to use for communication with others (but mostly Yabai...)

That all said it's way harder to win in multiplayer mode because communication and coordination is still really difficult (do you know how many times my Ramza and the other Ramza would use Shout on the same turn? THREE TIMES)

on the upside, I was able to complete this month's Ultimate +, normally I cannot go beyond the "base" Ultimate.

Are you guys going to attempt the Summoner 6* nightmare. The amount of SMN hones on 4* I'm seeing are rR Alexander, valefor, AND maudlin.

I have Ifrit/Shiva/Ramuh @R3, Valefor @r4 and Fat Chocobo @r3. I plan to give the boss a try though I'm more concerned with the fat lewts from the preceding dungeons than Neo Bahamut.

So... we got Onion Knight last night...



That's some good ***right there.

This one guy uses Tyro with Phantasm to deal some good dmg. I can get Alexander and Valefor both to r4 but Gil is preventing me from doing so. But Maduin r4 isn't going to be possible for me :/

What are his proficiencies?

All weapons, 3* black magic, 3* white magic, 3* physical, 3* speed attack, 3* ninja, 3* physical aux (forget the translation on this one)

He also has a unique class of tokens in Record Dive, which I'm presuming grants him a special ability... but I don't know what that is yet

His BSSB is stellar though

RD lets him get 5* in Black magic, White magic, Combat, Celerity, Support, and Ninja. His stats end up becoming nearly the highest in each category. He is by and far the strongest character in the game even before considering that he has the strongest BSB and a very powerful SSB.

JESUS I didn't even look at his final stats, his growth RAPIDLY ACCELERATES post level 90

Onion Knight is a strictly better version of Tyro, minus sentinel's grimoire, and is probably the strongest character in teh game

Just like the original Onion Knight. complete and utter garbage until lv90, then he learns every skill, gets to wear every equipment, and gets more stats than any other job in FF3!

Also he is the 2nd character ever that can use Tyro's books.


For anyone who doesn't know:

BSSB - 30%ATK+MAG up for party, Hastega, Burst Comm1: 4 hit physical attack + next physical ability is instant cast, Burst Comm2: 4 hit magical attack + next magical ability is instant cast

SSB1: Up to 5 hits based on speed + DEF+RES-50%

SSB2: 5 AoE magic attacks + 40% medica

Wow that Ultimate+ has to be the easiest one so far.

This ultimate dream stooges was sooo annoying. Wasn't hard but killing them so they don't arise was a pain because one or two always had shell on him.

On a brighter note my mage team stood up to an ultimate. Didn't even use SG used cyclone grimoire instead. Phantasm rocked too was doing between 4-5kish with no synergy gear.

This gives me hope for the Neo-Bahamut. Tyro using Fire Veil and Hardened Assasin RM.

Caius Ballad hits like a mofo. I had lots of issues against him.

Detestable boss.

Yeah Caius Ballad's second phase is a ***. You really have to have SG and medica go off at 55% in anticipation he'll spam the worst. I found most his attacks to be magic he rarely used physical attacks on me. I wish I had native DG for that fight.

RNG didn't treat me well.



I don't even care to try again. Took 50 tries to get that result.

Shitty part is I could have potentially gotten 1 less medal in KOs because literally everyone but edea was alive before the last 2 turns.

Finger slipped and I used a non dmg SB on Edea. Finger slipped and used regular ability instead of Balthier's SB.

Then everyone died but Balth and he finished the job

Last minute Lightning BSB on a single pull!
