We used to drive past a line of pickups waiting for the metal recyclers to open only to get to the subdivisions and find the wiring and pipes had been stripped. I remember that happening like 4 or 5 times before the electricians and plumbers got wise and started using aluminum/pex and marking their stuff.

Are correlation and causation the same? Just a reminder.

Also, I'm not sure if I understand your chart. It seems to be that they looked at all the people who moved into or out of a state, totaled their income from a 10-year period, and posted the totals?

And these numbers cover the whole of the Bush, Jr., administration, curiously. I'm sure I could make some wild *** claims on the basis of correlation, but you'd instantly reject them. Confirmation bias and all that jazz. As usual.

There was one guy that climbed over a 15 foot barbed wire fence for the power company that warned of the dangers of electrocution here and killed himself trying to gut the copper. The company ended up paying out some 8-10 million to the guys family...

*headache*

This kind of thing...just...ugh...

Then again with the way this country is, I guess I should say that I wish I had a family member so stupid to set me up for life like that, because any family member that dumb I wouldn't mind losing anyhow.

You are making zero sense. Cash is not a liability. Cash is an asset. You don't even have to be an accountant to even know that. I have never seen anyone call cash as a liability, except Lordgrim, but he is just stupid. I guess you are just as intelligent as him now.

Poor phrasing, appropriations aren't counted as liabilities on your balance sheet, which is why the total budget is listed as a fraction of the actual total budget including discretionary spending. Also, assets are counted instead of cashflow. You can have billions in assets and still be essentially broke functionally. You're being obtuse and throwing numbers and terms out rapid fire. I'm sure that works with some people, I could spout a ton of techno-babble to just overload someone with BS, but it doesn't work on me. You know you're being dishonest with a balance sheet, even if you won't admit it.

They probably are already.

Remember, this was before the fracking boom up there.
Oh wow, then ND is safe.

What about Mississippi, then? They just need a little nudge.

Appropriations have no place on the balance sheet, as they are both A) budgetary items and B) expenses. Expenses go on the Profit/Loss (or Income Statement), for crying out loud.

Seriously, stop trying to figure accounting, it requires at least a high school education to do get just the bookkeeping aspect down.

Odin.Jassik said: »

Except I didn't show a budget, I showed actual financial statements. You know, results from a plausible and reasonable budget. There is a comparison between what was the final budget and what actually happened, and they were pretty close, being off by $200k in the positive (more revenues than expenses) but you probably didn't see that.

Odin.Jassik said: »

That statement is more stupid than your previous one about balance sheets are a dishonest way to prove a point.

But keep it up, that hole is getting deeper and deeper as you dig. You have even surpassed Lordgrim's level. Congratulations!

Odin.Jassik said: »

Sure, if you only have fixed/tangible assets and receivables, with no cash. But not in this case. How can one be broke when they have $1.5 billion in cash and only $900 million in total liabilities? They can pay off everything and still have $600 million in the bank. That's broke to you, isn't it?

Odin.Jassik said: »

So, here's your chance to prove me wrong. Tell us in accounting terms where I am wrong. Go ahead, we can wait 6 years for you to get an accounting degree just so you can agree with me.

An education is not a bad thing, believe it or not. You should try it some time.

Odin.Jassik said: »

You have yet to prove any dishonesty. All you have done is put together random words together and hoped that they are right.

Let me ask you this, does the account "Sales" go on the balance sheet?

Fracking towns are kinda funny. The cost of living there has skyrocketed for people that moved to work there. Rent costs and the such shot up and its hard to find your own place unless its been provided by your employer or you choose to live in those group homes.

Then years later when the fracking is all done the city will then again disappear into obscurity lol.

Total value of wealth moved between states. Not just people, but jobs and investments.

Look at the date, it says 2000 to 2010, so yes, all of Bush Jr's administration and part of your lord and savior Obama's administration.

With oil being down, that's to be expected.

It's pointless, suppression of pricing by the sheiks can't last forever, and when they cannot do it anymore, the industry will simply re-flourish.

When you verbalize them, they actually stop being thoughts and turn into statements.

Not yet, prices have bounced back from the beginning of the year. Prices are expected to drop again because we're pumping more than we have room to store.

It makes him ignorant and more of an idiot really.

People don't need god to tell them those things are wrong and they'd still ahve to answer to other human beings for their actions for which we can punish them collectively.

Don't let that very small spike fool you though.

Speculation is that it will drop to below $40, but rise when summer arrives.

So because the Saudis decided not to cut back on their production that equates to suppression of pricing?
