They need to stop wasting resources making different ambuscade fights. Change the rewards keep the same fight and go use the time to create a different battlefield or something.

Which two mob types would you prefer they stuck with if they went that route, the current ones, last months or something new?

I think a lot of people would probably pick the Dragon since it was the easiest one so far.

Cool in theory, but I'm afraid in reality creating a new battlefield would be a very Intense task for their current resources, whereas creating a new fights only take a couple of days of work ^^'

Also, on a side note but still related - there are no EPIC battles left in XI. This is something unfortunate they have adopted from XIV.
Think it kinda depends on your definition of "epic" though?

One suggestion of epic: An 18 man alliance battle, that has a 2 hour timer, has several 'stages' and cannot just be simply zerged down in a few minutes...

Just sayin'

Not possible under today's battle mechanics and no big boss's are zerged down. Zerging CL145+ content is effectively impossible now due to a combination of punishing HP scaling and obscene monster stats. Instead we take a much slower approach that involves SCH SC's and timed BLM MB's with R/G being used to speed the process up.

And if it's a "Few minutes", its' by definition not "zerging". Zerging is when you throw a ton of buffed melee at something who then mindlessly spam their WS macro and kill the enemy before it's AI has had a chance to respond. If it lasts more then 60s and / or involves careful coordination and timing, then it's not a zerg.

Do you think they'll add armor/gear that's only for mastered jobs?

If they can't create new stuff then don't even bother changing ambuscade mobs. It's the same crap after first few fights.

Keep mob the same. Use resources to make something new. After 3 months finally they made something new.

Not changing ambuscade mobs would be so boring. I like how you gotta figure out a decent approach, I wish they got more creative tho.

Up to this point the only thing that comes from master trials is cosmetic, and I believe that they would stay with that theme. If they introduce any job master only items, they would probably come from somewhere else.

Don't give them strange ideas or they'll get TOO creative and we'll end up with something annoying like Quadav.
Damn farming 14500 points that month was so annoying, *** that Quadav fight srsly

They should make a buyable KI option that allows you to do unlimited Ambuscades without having to farm the stupid KI. Something like 10,000 hallmarks or gallantry that does not expire, but is purchased with current and not cumulative total.

Seriously, running out and farming 10 misc monsters is the most bizarre pre-req for entry. Its just flat out lame. Sure its a way to decrease congestion, but at this point, nobody really gives a fcuk about Ambuscade. And the queue system is enough.

With the current system the most annoying thing to me is the zone changing to farm a new KI.
Pretty sure the kill 10 laughably weak monsters (and have to change zones multiple times) is the DEVs way of time+congestion gating the content.
Under extreme congestion cases it was annoying and took a few more minutes to find those 10 trashmobs when they can get contested (imps in xarc_s being a good past example).

I would have preferred it require a synth material/crafted item (like we need for escha NMs) and just add a 5-10 minute entry cooldown that starts after you exit.

I don't see what's wrong with taking a page from how magic works and adding partial melee blows.

Instead of:
"WAR-San hits the Cute Hare for 1000 damage."
"WAR-San misses the Cute Hare."
"WAR-San misses the Cute Hare."
"WAR-San misses the Cute Hare."

Do instead:
"WAR-San hits the Cute Hare for 1000 damage."
"WAR-San glances the Cute Hare for 250 damage."
"WAR-San completely misses the Cute Hare."
"WAR-San glances the Cute Hare for 250 damage."

Then even if you can't close absurd evasion/accuracy gaps, melees aren't completely useless (worth bringing is a separate matter).

I would prefer that they just add a bunch of fights at once, and then give you a random one each entry. Better yet, an option that would let you keep fighting more random bosses in a single run to rake in more points.

...Why does that sound so familiar?

Its quite possible this may eventually happen (though I strongly doubt it) once they run through all of the salvage 3.0 gearsets. I mean, these fights last a total of 2 minutes max with any halfway decent group. (edit) I don't see why having an event that lasts somewhere close to the 30 minute limit is a bad thing? So easy to implement too.

Sorry, I take that back. This is SE we're talking about. Why would they give us an event where we could make 1500 points in 1 run when they can just force us to do 5 runs of 300 points each, and just prolong the reward system. Sounds very SEish. k

Hello there, everyone.

Job points were designed around the concept of enhancing a particular job by earning job points while playing it. Consider that it is essentially building a stronger affinity for a job, and if we were to make it possible to spend job points on any job, it would go against the said concept.

As such, there are no plans to change how job points can be obtained at the moment.

Hi, there!

Looking at the potency of Amnesia from past content, the development team adjusted its duration for notorious monsters and content introduced after Seekers of Adoulin. Additionally, some of monsters before SoA were also adjusted.
Based on these changes they do not have any plans to make further adjustments to Amnesia at the moment, which includes making it possible to remove this status ailment this through Full Cure.

As mentioned previously in a different thread, it is not possible to add new spells currently so adding a new magic spell to remove Amnesia is not something we can address.

I might be reading into the choice of wording but "it is not possible to add new spells currently" could be a bit worrisome. Perhaps they just mean that they've run out of space (ps2 limitations still being a thing because it's still built for the ps2) but.. are there no plans to remedy this?

Also, fk Amnesia.

Also, fk Amnesia.
It simply means that they lack the capability for making a 100% new spell.
I'm not 100% sure why... All they say on the matter is that they're out of PS2 dev kits? Whatever that means.
But I'm like: if modders can make 100% new armor, and it looks like they can too with that crab hat, then I really have no idea what these "dev kits" are.
I'd imagine that they're something like other developer's tools... Though for things like Skyrim and Dragon Age Origins, it's not a one use thing.... Hence my confusion.

Basically, the only new things capable of being added are things that cannibalize old assets....
Which means if they were going to add an "amnesina" it would have to use an old animation. If they can even do that.

Essentially all they could do, in terms of new spells, is give access to spells that already exist. (Like banish IV.)
