It's unreasonable to expect massive changes given what we've seen already. Some small changes to aftermaths are still very possible given what the devs have said, but I see no cause to expect significant adjustments at this point.

This is the position I've been taking, I expect some of the more lol-worthy AM's to be altered, also expect the duration of Relic AM's to be increased to be similar to that of Emp / Mythic.

Bravura wasn't so much for "WAR tanking", as being able to DD and survive brutal attacks from NM's. The AM is DT -20%, which when combined with a few pieces of -DT accessories allows the WAR to continue dishing out large amounts of damage while taking significantly less damage then a regular DD would. It's also a super accurate weapon with the additional effect being -40 evasion that procs often. Could still be viable, assuming they raise the DMG cap to be similar to what the Swords got.

Apoc's AM is just a bad joke. The 10% gear haste used to nice, until Rune Chopper builds were made which accomplished the exact same thing for SEBW zergs. Once gear haste got easy to obtain Apoc lost all of it's power and became useful for soloing stuff only.

What's needed is to have Apoc's haste effect changed to JA haste similar to Hasso / LR / Dance Samba, and even then the 20% delay floor would prevent any "Rise of the Dark Knight" from happening. The best use for Apoc is actually related to the Max HP drain tactic. NV DS Drain III bursted on a SC can easily give the DRK 9999 HP for 3min (duration of LR), which is then followed by a regular Drain II bursted for 4000~6000 HP. Using souleater at such high HP values yields a stupid amount of DPS but comes with the problem of keeping HP up. Apoc's Catastrophe would fill this role nicely, allowing the DRK to ride LR and SE without fear of impending death.

Kikoku Subtle Blow+10 AM (on a job that's likely hitting Subtle Blow cap without trying anyway) says hi! Yeah, I agree changing that sort of thing is the kind of AM adjustment I'm expecting.

Speaking of Kikoku though, I'm kinda pumped about its prospects. Doesn't look too hard for it to beat any non-RMEA by simply giving it a reasonable damage bump and some additional skill. Any other stats or non-garbage AM is a bonus. And Metsu's pretty cool to have for SC purposes! I'm hoping this is a good one...

Before anyone asks, Nirvana isn't left out.
They merely forgot to add it in the English translation, it is mentioned in the Japanese topic.

Can't wait to upgrade my Verethrana. /sarcasm

Concerning Nirvana, seriously hope after the upgrade Nirvana will be BiS for both physical AND magical Blood Pacts.
That way you'd still need to swap it out for an Espiritus during Wards, which is still quite annoying, but at least it would be much better than the current situation.

Uh... yeah, actually, they do. Why would they leave those two weapons at 242 skill and their current damage values when all the other weapons are getting upgrades?

I can see leaving idris alone honestly, its pretty powerful even its current state. There is no weapon that can replace it or even come close.

Now if solstice had geomancy + 8 on it, maybe, but thats not the case.

RUN one though, yeah that needed an update

Upgrading a weapon does not automatically mean every stat on that weapon gets increased. Anyone who was paying attention when SE previewed the 119+1 swords knows that it's incredibly unlikely that Idris will get any more Geomancy+ or Epeolatry will see an increase in PDT II. Expect bonuses to dmg/skill/macc/mab/enmity. That's it.

Correct, and none of which a geo needs honestly. An idris is closer to a bard harp/horn/paladin shield imho. Its more for the utility it adds to the party.

Fully aware all they will probably do is add some macc/matkb/magic dmg to idris which is cool and all but it doesnt change the fact that geo really didnt need it.

Like i said though rune weapon has gotten replaced by other easier to get weapons and is in need of an upgrade to stay relevant, i just dont feel like idris was in the same boat of being repalced which is why they are doing it at all.

Run weapon replaced by other easier to obtain weapons?
Wut?
What are you talking about?
Epeolatry is a tanking tool and it's still by far the best.
Closest thing is Aettir, and it's soooo far away.

If you meant for dps epe never was the best not even at release (with am3 down I mean).
Update is warmly welcome and due but I don't see your logic.
Damage on epe is as "accessory" on epe than it is for idris.

I'm glad I go into things with 0 expectations. Oh maybe they'll give the ergon a bonus that allows for an extra rune, since JP didn't deliver that and we got Temper instead.

If you look at what Shiraiyuki posted, you'll see that it was an accidental omission on the English post and it is indeed included on the Japanese post.

While there are some pros to making it JA haste, I think overall it'd be better off with magic haste. However, such a change should also be accompanied by a potency increase to 15% so that you could still cap magic haste with just Haste II.

Well, that would arguably still be the case. Regardless, it's impossible to argue against altering the Aftermath in some way.

Putting aside the fact that DRK isn't regularly used by most parties, Catastrophe is in fact usable due to its skillchain attributes.

Putting aside the fact that DRK isn't regularly used by most parties, Catastrophe is in fact usable due to its skillchain attributes.

Quietus, Cross Reaper and Entropy have all of those covered and are stronger then Catastrophe.

Catastrophe
Gravitation / Darkness
40% STR / INT
2.75 fTP (doesn't scale - pseudo 3.85 after counting 40% increase)

Quietus
Distortion / Darkness
60% STR / MND
3.0 fTP (doesn't scale)
10/30/50 (scales). In effect this is a 11/42/100% attack bonus

Entropy
Gravitation / Reverberation
73~85% INT
3.0/5.0/8.0 fTP that scales but also copies Tp bonus so you can get
3.8/5.8/8.8 fTP

Cross Reaper
Distortion
60% STR / MND
3.0/5.0/8.0 (high fTP first hit with extra hit afterwards)

And just for good posture

Insurgency
20% STR / INT
Fusion / Compression
3.5/6.25/9.0 (first hit scales with TP then three additional regular hits)

The other WS's have all the SC attributes covered and are more powerful. Cata's mostly used for getting HP back when you either don't have a healer or are doing the super HP drain and thus have plenty of headroom.

Then we can do some really interesting things.

Guillotine
30% STR / 50% MND
Induration
3.875 fTP (did it get updated in the big WS update?)

Reverberation -> Induration produces Induration and Induration -> Reverberation produces Fragmentation so it's possible for a DRK to four step light with a Scythe. Entropy (or Infernal) -> Guillotine -> Entropy (or Infernal) -> Insurgency. I mention Infernal because if you have Geo-Maliase present then it does a ridiculous amount of damage, unfortunately because it has no T2 SC properties you can't use it to close a big T3 SC.
