pretty sure itll change the range artificially. since it targets the pet i think youll have to be within a certain range of your pet rather than the monster. in otherwords, itll add the distance between the monster and your pet to the distance you can be from the mob when you use ready.

Oh snap you guys might finally be getting the Lv4 SC animations that have been in the .dats since like 8 years ago.

Quote:
A new class of armaments, aeonic weapons, will be added via a new quest.
Aeonic weapons are of the same caliber as relic, mythic, and empyrean weapons, and possess an aftermath effect that enables the activation of new skillchains that surpass light and darkness.
* Completion of the aeonic weapons requires completion of a quest to be added in a subsequent update.

Also confirms there is another content update.

EDIT: Beaten to the punch ; ;

The hype train has arrived at the station. All passengers please step aboard.

Also, am I crazy, or does that armor fit far too closely with the jobs represented to simply be general equipment? AF4 might finally be real.

Going to be interesting to see what it requires to make. Part of me thinks this would be a good way to get people back into older content if it requires a mix of all the other REM upgrade currencies

Inc requires all matching REM weapons Lv119 with afterglow + new mats that drop from a lv160 Absolute virtue that doesn't have the 2Her locking strat and only a 30m timer but you can only spawn it after doing a bunch more Chloris farming and fighting a Lv150 version of that for 150 3 leaf buds.

Is that just me, or it looks like they're adding new JSE sets(like artifact, relic, empy sets) with those new weapons.

If so, it gonna be awesome !!!!!!!!!!

I have a feeling it will be absurdly(relatively) easy to obtain. Sort of a consolation to all the loyal fans that never had the guild or time to farm an REM.
Ahahahaha so much wishful thinking there :P

That WAR armor design, although I can't make out any small details, looks a bit Yoshitaka Amano~sque. It would great to have these last set of JSEs designed by him... It is doubtful but /dream on.

Maybe because it's 10 AM here but I still don't fully understand.

Right now it's like this:

- Call pet
- Attack enemy
- BST (virtually) next to pet to issue commands

New situation (from what I can gather):

- Call pet
- Attack enemy.. from a further distance?
- BST can stand further away from enemy but still kinda close to pet...?

Because it was a dumb, boring, and pointless time waster, just like Hunt Registry and Evoliths.

I can see that... But it's not something I'd particularly want.

If only because some categories are a waste of life to use JP on... Other than to get gifts, obviously. (Like mana cede on SMN. Just... Why couldn't it have been "adds an HP restore effect" or something? Avatars are just too fragile on anything that matters to really get much use out of it.)

That's the point of any game :/ It could have been more than just grinding for xp as they originally had good ideas for it.

Well right now you gotta stand near the enemy, which is not a bad thing but could be done better. By making it centered on your pet it opens the opportunity for the player to actively control their distance in a Player -> Pet -> Mob type fashion. Positioning becomes an important factor in strategy vs just spamming ready every times it's up.

Isn't the Ready command already based on distance to pet and not distance to enemy? I can stand right to some enemies on the opposite end of where my pet is and Ready is out of range. The only real difference I see here is that you'll have a marker telling you if you're close enough to your pet or not.

I was thinking that too. The title will probably be like Su3, but just in a fancier way.

I don't have BST leveled, but a self targeted ability is always going to show you as in range, in the case of BST that could be problematic with the decreased distance they can stand from their pets to use those abilities. So if the pet becomes the target the marker would show whether or not you're actually in range.
