Why wouldn't we want more DA/TA abilities? I'm well aware that it's not going to happen, but I'd still love it.
Having said that, yaaaay Mighty Guard. I wonder if we'll get any more UL spells from the Supreme Being family.

Quetzalcoatl.Trulusia said: »Also, I already assumed they were merging them together into one category, but what are they adding to replace them? Or are they simply going to make PUP the only job in the game with 3 options for group 1 merits?
I was also wondering if they'd add something to replace, but it does look like it's just going change to be 3 categories only. A little weird, but as there are also several jobs with more than the average I guess there's no reason we can't have one with less than usual. Especially thinking about it from a 2015 perspective, where we have Job Points that make unique merits a bit less important anyway. And anyway, even if there's just 3, I can pretend there is some 4th category that would have been garbage anyway and nobody in their right mind would merit (reduce activation burden?).
Ah, looks like they ARE replacing them. And the new ones other than skill are bad, don't use them. Skill/Repair recast 5/5 is definitely the way to go.
1) Automaton Melee Skill is becoming "Automaton Skill", and will give additional melee, ranged, and magic skill. This makes sense to be the one to change, as pretty much everyone has melee skill anyway (since it's the one category all puppets can use).
2) Magic Skill is being changed to Repair potency +2% per merit. Which is way worse than the existing -30sec Repair RECAST merits.
3) Ranged Skill is being changed to Maintenance recast -3 seconds per merit (base 60sec). Not useless, but definitely not as good as reducing Repair recast (which also removes up to 2 status effects anyway with AF119 boots).
I'll do what I already do. I'll just change merits based on what I am doing. If I am tanking I don't care at all about skill, so I'll either dump those for repair potency or maintenance recast depending on what I am dealing with. Might dump skill anyway on lower level content that likes to spam status effects, as not having the laundry list of *** Maintenance clears is a lot more useful than the small amount of attack and accuracy skill adds. It'll just depend on the content I suppose.

Eh, I guess that's fair enough. But it's pretty clear now that Repair recast is the best PUP group 1 merit if you do any automaton tanking whatsoever. I'd imagine most people would prefer not to constantly reconfigure merits and just leave skill, which is helpful for any puppet (even tanking, extra acc/atk is something).
Maintenance is all right, but 60 sec to 45 sec is honestly not that big of a deal to me. I do fine tanking just using Repair when it's up (also removing status effects thanks to AF boots), and Maintenance in between Repairs as needed.
Activate Recast and Repair Potency are trash, neither is justifiable over the choices of Repair recast, Skill, and Maintenance.
Still wish with the low Repair and Maintenance timers and heavy use these days that oils stacked higher than 12, it's an absolutely unnecessary restriction. No reason at all this shouldn't be 99.

About Vorseal Table:
Quote: You want hints, eh? Since it’s Friday and all, I suppose a tiny hint wouldn’t hurt.
I’ll start with a vorseal that was added in the May version update, which is comparatively a bit easier to grasp the prereqs.
Missions, kupos, and O-hohohoho’s, oh my!
Quote: More hints? Okay, I’ll give you another.
If you’re looking to boost your HP and MP, "Combat" against regular monsters found in Eschan areas is a must Quote: Happy Friday!
Building on my previous hint...
The specific amount of monsters you need to defeat to unlock rank 3 for enhanced HP/MP is 100!

The proc rate for Daken at each of its ranks is as follows:
Rank 1: 20%
Rank 2: 25%
Rank 3: 30%
Rank 4: 35%
Rank 5: 40%
Using equipment with special bonuses for Daken will also push the proc rate higher.

Still no war/drk/drg 2 handed update, SE you *** fail, abysmal!
Yeah, for DRKs they keep buffing spells whilst ignoring the actual problem. Not getting my money until they fix it anyway, if you have to play solo, there's kind of no point playing an MMO. At least we've got some great games coming out soon! DS3/Fallout3 ftw!

Quote: Currently we have no plans to increase the elemental capacity.
The attachments that were added in the August version update have had their elemental values set to match their higher effects. If you are reaching the elemental capacity maximum value when using these new attachments, we would like you to explore different combinations of attachments and also strive to unlock the Gift that increases your automaton’s elemental capacity.

Quote: Apologies if the previous comment was not clear. After discussing this request with the development team, we have no plans to add any of the items related to abjuration gear to the list of items that can be purchased with sparks.
Quote: We have no plans to adjust blue magic breath spells.
Quote: We have no plans to add additional weaponskills for automatons.
Quote: Adventuring fellows have always been counted as a party member since the time they were introduced, and we purposely didn't change this when we introduced alter egos through the use of Trust magic. Alter egos and adventuring fellows act the same in that they will occupy any available spots of a party, and this is the choice a player must make when using alter egos and/or adventuring fellows. As such, we currently have no plans to adjust fellows in this way.

I realize that this thread was made in jest, and that no ill-intentions were meant by it; however, I feel the need to explain our current mindset when it comes to replying to player suggestions.
Grekumah and the rest of the community team are constantly picking up nearly all of the suggestions you all have been posting, and we try (as best as we can) to get an answer from the development team. Even if the answer is one we feel may be disappointing, we strive to make posts with the information we receive to show that we are in fact reading over your feedback and not ignoring suggestions. While sometimes it may not be the answer you are hoping to hear, we would like to be transparent with future plans when we can as much as possible.

Well, you can currently prevent this. You can choose to reurn your Rare Enemies vorseals when you start farming. It drops you to 0 Rare Enemy Vorseals, so no NMs will pop. With it only costing 1000 Silt/upgrade, it isnt too costly to upgrade again, considering if you are CP farming, you are also gaining a lot of XP/CP
Actually, just found out, this doesn't work. I returned my vorseals, and still popped Warder of Temp by accident.

Judging by the vorseal bonuses, it would seem the default pop rate is 1/100, since the denominator drops by 6 for every Rare Enemy+ you get (1/94, 1/88, etc).

Quote: Freshly Picked Vana'diel 21 Digest
Greetings,
To coincide with the September version update, Producer Akihiko Matsui held another "Freshly Picked Vana'diel" to go over some of the new content and discuss other topics pertinent to adventuring. The following is a digest of what was discussed.
YouTube Video Placeholder
Table of Contents
Mog Garden Additions and AdjustmentsWe’ve unlocked monster rearing rank 6. To coincide with this, we’ve also made it possible to raise two new types of monsters from the bomb family and behemoth family. When fully grown, the behemoth will become King Behemoth. This is a really big monster, but you can move him over to your Mog Garden.
Additionally, we’ve made adjustments to how monsters move around. Up until now monsters had been walking around quite often, but as time passed their movement would become dull. We’ve adjusted this so that they continuously walk about.
*Adjustments were made on 9/19/2015 to reduce the frequency of monster movement.
Furthermore, the feature that automatically creates names when naming a monster has been adjusted. We’ve made it so names do not overlap with monsters that have already been given a name. During the campaign period, the moogles will sell quite nice items, so please check them out. Seekers of Adoulin QuestsWe added the final chapter to the Seekers of Adoulin quest “The Secret to Success.” The reward for clearing this quest is a throwing weapon with Refresh +1 on it. It has some stats on it that haven’t been seen before, so I think it’ll come in handy. It’s an item that can only be equipped by jobs that have divine magic skills. High-tier Mission BattlefieldsTwo new nostalgic battlefields with stronger monsters have been added: “One to be Feared” and “Dawn.” Relive those amazing memories from the past once again.
This time around there aren’t any NPCs to fight alongside you, but we’ve tuned the battle so that you can handle it without them. There also won’t be any mammets you need to kite around the battlefield, so you’ll be able to devote your focus to the two main bosses. Domain Invasion AdjustmentsWe made adjustments so that it’s easier to enjoy this content even when there are not many people participating.
We’ve also implemented a system that reduces the respawn time and amount of regular monsters needed to summon notorious monsters when there are only a few participants.
Additionally, we added an evaluation system. This is not only for when you fight notorious monsters, and we’ve made it so that as long as you participate and get an average evaluation, you will be able to receive a reward. We’ve also addressed some of the larger requests on the forum; namely raising players after the battle has concluded and a reduction in monster detection range. Geas Fete AdjustmentsWe’ve added high content level notorious monsters which will allow for challenging battles. There are popular monsters from the past making an appearance, so please try and hunt them down. Unity Concord AdjustmentsWyrm-type, behemoth-type, and adamantoise-type notorious monsters have been added. The wyrm-type notorious monster will not drop an item level version of Ridill, but we’d like to introduce this weapon when the timing is right. Adjustments to Existing QuestsAdjustments were made to aspects of certain quests that were troublesome.
As a difficulty adjustment for the quest “Scholar Attire,” we made the “Indescript Markings” easier to locate.
Additionally, as an adjustment to the quest “In the Name of Science,” we’ve made it so the hints given by the NPC “Yurim” when trading an apple pie are more specific. Adjustments to Existing AreasNew hunting spots have been added to Seekers of Adoulin dungeons for high-level players. There are monsters with extremely high HP, so it would be efficient to hunt them as a party.
Monsters respawn every minute, and while they are aggressive, they will not link. Think about using these areas as safe spots for earning capacity points. Adjustments to Existing ContentWe’ve increased the drop rate of ciphers from Sinister Reign. There are many who are participating in this content in order to obtain alter egos, so because of this we increased the obtainment rate. In the event that you’ve already obtained a certain alter ego, the cipher will no longer drop, and it won’t weigh on your rewards.
We’ve also made adjustments so that Incursion, Delve, and Einherjar can be enjoyed with only a few party members.
Additionally, we lowered the base damage that is split amongst party members for Gorge and Disgorge used by sandworm-type notorious monsters in Abyssea and Voidwatch. Coalition and Reive AdjustmentsWe’ve made it so coalition ranks are easier to increase and at the same time harder to decrease. Furthermore, we adjusted the rewards earned when completing a coalition assignment. The rewards will scale with the difficulty, so you can now choose assignments with this in mind. Job Adjustments
Dark knight
The duration of the maximum HP bonus effect of Drain II and Drain III has been increased. The effect duration of Dread Spikes and Absorb-type spells has also been increased, and at 500 skill the effect duration will be doubled. The recast time and effect duration of Scarlet Delirium has been adjusted, and it’s a uniform 90 seconds when taking damage and before taking damage. This can now be used more often, so please put it to good use.
Beastmaster
The range in which certain abilities and pet commands can be used has been shortened. While this changes the style of play a bit, please try it out and let us know your feedback.
Ninja
TP-related ninjutsus, Myoshu: Ichi and Kakka: Ichi, have been adjusted. Their casting time has been decreased, and the effect duration has been increased.
Dragoon
We made adjustments to better maintain wyverns. Due to the adjustments made, the Strafe bonuses found on certain equipment is not functioning properly. We are looking into switching this with another bonus in a future version update.
Summoner
In order to make summoner easier to play as a backrow job, we’ve increased the range in which pet commands can be executed.
Blue mage
The series classic Mighty Guard has been added as a blue magic spell. It’s extremely powerful, so put it to good use. Also, please note that the new spells Cruel Joke, Cesspool, and Tearing Gust cannot be learned from the Xol Triumverate encountered in the missions.
Corsair
We made it so Beast Roll and Drachen Roll give ranged attack and ranged accuracy bonuses to sharpshot automatons.
Puppetmaster
We increased the combat and magic skills for automaton heads. With this adjustment, combining the same type of head and frame will allow you to reach an A+ skill.
Scholar
We reduced the level needed to learn each of the storm spells. At level 99, you will be able to cast all of these spells when scholar is set as your support job.
Alter Ego AdjustmentsWe’ve added more areas and content in which alter egos can be summoned. You can now use them in Abyssea and Legion.
Additionally, we’ve made it possible for certain ranged, magic, and support-type alter egos to attack monsters from a distance. We’d love to hear your feedback on their behavior. Food Additions and AdjustmentsWe’ve adjusted the effects for each kind of crepe. The sweet-type crepes will boost your magic accuracy based on percentage, so please decide which food you’d like to use based on your stats. As for the savory crepes, they will increase your stats by a set value.
Behemoth meat has been added as a new reward for King Behemoth, but this does not alter the equipment drop rate, so please don’t worry! Emote AdditionsWe added an emote where your character sits in a chair, and there are four kinds of chairs. You can exchange chocobo coins as well as mummers’ coins for the Chocobo Chair. The Shadow Throne can either be crafted with bonecraft or purchased with cruor.
Additionally, we added job emotes for geomancer and rune fencer. Quality-of-life ImprovementsWe added a party participation request feature. When creating a party, it will be easy for the leader to see who is looking for a party with a list. Using this feature will make it easier than ever to form a party for the objectives you are looking to accomplish.
Additionally, we added a status icon timer, the ability to change the size of the various windows when using the multiple window function, and an equipment comparison feature.
As an item-related quality-of-life improvement, we’ve made it possible to send certain notorious monster trigger items to characters under the same account. We’ve also made it possible to store Rems Tales with an NPC, so this should lighten the load on your inventory. AnnouncementsA new blu-ray disc music album will go on sale soon. Experience the music of Vana’diel in high-quality sound with accompanying videos. Details can be found here. (*Please note the site is in Japanese only.)
All of the screenshots we received for the Mosaic Art Project have been compiled into a jig-saw puzzle that is going to be available soon. Pre-orders can be made here. (*Please note the site is in Japanese only.)
Finally, pre-registration for FINAL FANTASY Grandmasters has begun. Check here for all the details.

Pre-nerf: "Distance doesn't need to be nerfed"
Post-nerf: "Distance needed to be nerfed but you did it too much"
It's very much Rudra's Storm v2, hell I'm sure I was guilty for over-defending Rudra's at the time but trying to bargain your way out of a nerf just weakens your argument.

Hi.
Dev tracker is a kind of feed in Official Forum that highlight (in the left side bar) posts from development team to players demands, questions and sugestion. Given that those answers are given by someone who effectively works with the deveopment of this game, they can be considered as official and true.
http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxi/forum.php
The japanese side of OF has its own dev tracker, that normally is way more active and detailed than english side. If someone feel like translating it to bring the info, feel welcomed too.
http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxi/search.php?searchid=15480698
BG site has one specific topic just to publish and discuss those official answers, and i think ffxiah lacks something similar as not everyone here check BG or OF, so lots of details/dev opinion are missed. So, thats the point of this topic, anyone who see new info in dev tracker feeds, quote it here, and start a discussion if you feel like.
Starting now, a couple of new dev posts were released after march update annoucement. Here they are:

Quote: Since dusk-type stones were just implemented, we'd like players to do alluvion skirmishes to obtain them, so there are no plans to add the ability to trade other items for these stones at the moment.
However, we'll look into increasing the amount in circulation and the means of obtaining them in some way in a future version update.
Monster rearing news:
Quote: [dev1262] Mog Garden Adjustments
Monster Rearing will undergo the following adjustments.
A monster's mood will no longer degrade from "beaming with pure contentment" after collecting items or interacting with the monster.
The collective moods of all creatures will generate auras of light or darkness that affects them all.
Light
When the number of creatures beaming with pure contentment is greater than that succumbing to darkness, all creatures’ contentment and mood are increased.
Darkness
When the number of creatures succumbing to darkness is greater than that beaming with pure contentment, all monsters' contentment and mood are decreased.
The following information will be displayed when entering your Mog Garden.
The number of days left on assistants’ contracts.
The current affinity of the Mog Garden.
Mog garden gathering points will undergo the following adjustments.
It will be possible to scrap any unwanted flotsam directly without receiving it in cases where the player’s inventory is full or he is otherwise unable to recover it.
Sugestion about blu traits having aditional tier info.
Quote: This is something that is difficult for us to address at the moment as we would have to send data each time you open the menu to see which tier you currently have. We're concerned about this largely affecting UI response time.
Similarly the same holds true for saving the data client-side as well. Since all of the trait data for this would have to be saved, it would consume large amounts of memory, which also makes this feature difficult to implement.
