You may as well just nuke the thread. This particular topic has been at stalemate in this forum for quite a long time (years, I fear to speculate). The two opposing sides have such a habit of basically saying that the other is full of blind believers in bad science that it's no wonder Endoq immediately showed up with her usual lack of content and attention-seeking nonsense.

What exactly can be achieved when both sides are metaphorically facing away from each other and screaming with their fingers in their ears?

The simple fact to the whole argument is CO2 is not making the planet warmer. In spite of us pumping CO2 into the atmosphere our planet has refused to warm for the past 19yrs. Any logical person would come to the conclusion that CO2 is not the problem, yet all these people that think they are logical say CO2 is warming the planet and when called out on it they respond like this..

Altima, maybe you missed all the previous threads on this topic where Pleebo already expressed his point of view. There's just little reason to repeat the same things over and over. And that's for you too, why dance around in circles?

You mean with the graphs that were proven to be biased towards the global warming agenda. No.. I didn't miss those threads..

This isn't the same thing over and over, these are actual creditable scientists that say Global warming is a joke.

You mean the graphs you chose to believe were biased, when there wasn't any factual evidence to prove those claims.

And you're talking about bias?

Right or wrong he may be, he did show a stance. No reason to pretend he didn't quoting that laugh.

Huh? I think I understand what you are trying to say, but you realize this is an internet forum for a 14yr old game right? Not exactly the stage for a formal debate on anything..

As much as he claims to want a debate, he's unmoved by new information and unwilling to admit any holes in his position. He also either pretends to or has no real understanding of scientific terminology or methodology. This whole thread is just an attempt to draw out people he dislikes and attempt to mock their beliefs. So, rightly, some people beat him to the punch.

Pretty sure you got told to stay on topic.. Just sayin.. Maybe if people actually stayed on topic none of what you stated would have to pass.

In every single thread in P&R it always come down to the liberals claiming they are getting mocked after their beliefs get ripped apart. And somehow its always the conservatives fault for their failings.

Smart people can say stupid things too, particularly if it isn't necessarily in their field.
Quote:
“.8 degrees we will be discussing in global warming. .8 degrees if you ask people in general they will think it is 4 or 5 degrees they don’t know it is so little. It is not even fever,” Giaever said.
Fever (febrile response) is generally defined as a 0.8C range over the high end of normal body temperature(37.5C) Which is within 0.8C of the normal body temperature(37.0C), and 0.8C over what is normally accepted as the upper normal temperature would be a fever (37.8C).
Those numbers vary depending on sex/age/person/etc, but they are the generally used numbers.
A high fever (hyperpyrexia) is significantly higher. Perhaps he meant that.

What he also seems to disregard is the sheer amount of energy in such a small change over a large object.

And saying attributing the warm period as good for humanity, as opposed to the advances in medicine/technology/science seems to be farcical at best.

That's akin to turning up the thermostat in your apartment, and counting that as the reason that your cancer went into remission, rather than the chemotherapy you underwent.

A 0.8c temperature change is 1.4f. As I'm sick and I've been running a fever off and on for a couple of days I can say Yes with absolute certainity that I feel a difference going from 37.0c to 37.8c or 38.0c to 38.8c

As I'm also pregnant an increase in temperature correlates with an increase in nausea. A direct affect on my body which is very noticeable

If you've never experienced a fever maybe that's why you can't comprehend why what this guy stated sounds silly.

earth's north and south pole's ozone layer is very weak and spins around on earth's revolving axis that shoots out pollution kinda like a vortex or a blackhole so the amount of climate change is still being maintained by earth itself. also, another effect of earth's axis is the moon continuously getting further from earth until it's gone etc..

granted, the amount of gaseous pollutants on earth exceed the amount that's released so the earth is infact aging and getting dirtier.

The moon's distance is a direct result of it's creation.

A newborn baby with a temperature increase of 0.8c will be affected more than a full grown man. For many reasons.

This doesn't mean the full grown man is not affected it means the affects will be different. E.g. Potential brian damage vs. Discomfort/irrationality

Really because he is responding to a quote from the article you posted in your OP. How is that offtopic? What exactly are you expecting people to post? You have pretty much laughed off everyone and called it "nitpicking." Well, why don't you share what you expect people to respond to in this thread? Because so far, according to you, everyone is posting off topic (except for you of course). Pretty clear case of why altima should not be allowed to create threads.

*sigh*
Yeah. If you can't understand that the normal body temperature of differing individuals is not necessarily going to be identical, when one can be an male olympic athlete, another is a newborn/infant, and a third is a pregnant woman, well then... that explains a lot.
Hell, your temperature usually fluxuates throughout the day.

And thinking the fact that I actually put that the medical defintion of fever fluxuates somewhat implies weakness to my statement itself also says a lot.

Its hysterical to take this guys fever remark and use it as ammunition against his stance. It's not uncommon for the left side of this forum to do exactly that to every single subject. (Got nothing.. make a big deal about nothing and hope nobody notices.)

No.....

That is not at all what I was implying.

I was explaining why people can be affected differently by a 0.8c temperature change

Edit:
You are the one who posted his comment. If you don't want it analyzed don't post it.
