Fighting games are rife with female speedsters, and because of that, I wasn't too fond of Juri as far as gameplay goes. Her backstory however made her a monumental character in my book though. Unfortunately, fighting games are always weak on the story department, leaving those like me that thrive on storytelling to delve into the official fiction created for them.
With regard to roster diversity, I love that they are creating new faces and bringing back others we haven't seen in awhile. Then again, I'm one of the few that was onboard with the original idea behind Street Fighter 3, where Alex was the main star and the only Shotokan character was supposed to be Sean. While technically, Alex is still the star, we all know how the roster turned out. And with them on the roster, focus instantly shifts from new faces to old guard.
