US immigration policies and Supreme Court rulings are not. It's a social phenomenon that all world faces, so his opinion is as good as everyone else's.

When governments try to help poor people all they do is create more poor people.
Capitalism creates a Middle class. If it weren't for capitalism you would have a handful of wealthy people in government and everyone else would be in poverty.
Charity is a personal matter, not the matter of government. You are a generous person because you vote for a socialist.

It looks great on paper (like communism) but the system is broken.
Most systems look good on paper, and practically all systems are broken. It's a matter of choosing the lesser evil that best fits your country.

A healthy mix, which is what people like to argue for, well those who are learned.

So basically you are angry that there are some very rich people.
It is a shame that every time a regular person tries to run for Office or the White House their characters are assassinated, they are called horrible names like Uncle Tom, made to sound crazy, ridiculed for actually answering questions instead of avoiding them. Destroyed. Belittled. Slandered.
Face it. You like having the wealthy control the Government. You will vote for Hillary. You will like it.

A healthy mix, which is what people like to argue for, well those who are learned. Problem is, neither is there a "healthy mix" nor is there "learned people" who would implement it.
Remember, the government doesn't hire the best of the best. They hire the lowest bidder.

True, but you won't often get that when people are enamored with the idea of copying the governments of countries that have much smaller populations.

You actually can when you only get pieces, and adjust them accordingly.

Was more an agree to disagree statement, Korpg.
Would you talk to a wall?
Then again.. Usually before one can agree to disagree, one has to provide an opinion....

The problem is that our system isn't capitalism. It's a hybrid capitalist/socialist/corporatist system that gives money an incredible influence on politics.

I just don't understand the failure of liberals to understand the idea of people freely entering the marketplace to compete prevents the creation of concentrated power.

I've never seen so many liberal Catholics as I have in the last few days. It's like everyone's all of a sudden found a new sense of devotion.
I feel bad for Al Gore.

You've contributed nothing to this thread so far but hostility and insults, so you don't get to contribute any more.
900 pages of hostility and insults and you topicban a person for nothing, seems legit.

I can see how reality would get in the way of the party with pipe dream utopian ideals.
Random Politics & Religion is for topics that aren't thread worthy on their own and do not have their own existing thread.
Rules and Guidelines
Forum Rules and P&R Section Guidelines still apply.
Satire is tolerated.
If your topic covers a story over 6 months old (Watergate, Benghazi, 2012 Election, etc.) post it here.
Discussions on racism, homophobia, transphobia, and the like are allowed, targeted insults based on these will not be tolerated.
Political debates get heated and are meant to be intense, if you take offense to being called or proven wrong, you don't belong here.
If you can't take the heat, get out of the kitchen; if you prove you can't handle the criticism you bring upon yourself in this thread, you may be removed from it. You are responsible for what you post.
Along those lines, heat is fine, but sustained, clearly personal hostility is not okay. The personal attack rules still apply. Attack positions, not posters. Failure to adhere to this will result in your removal from the thread.
This thread is NOT the Flame Core.
These rules are subject to change and modification where and when needed.
Random Politics & Religion may be mained or demained depending on the activity within at a Moderator's discretion.
With that out of the way, let the debates begin!
