The role they play os based on what the people who elect them want to hear. A representative from Oklahoma doesn't care about what the voters in California think or even what voters in a different district think. They are only concerned with what the voters in their own district want to see / hear, and so they craft their role accordingly.
Don't confuse the actor with the role. Another thing, what people say is meaningless only what they do is important. Most of the posters here are liberals, specifically they are progressives. What they "identify" as is meaningless, only the philosophy they have been programed with is important. Its incredibly easy to spot people with philosophical programming.

Well if you're a straight guy who believes being gay is a choice. Then you are admitting you find yourself sexually attracted to the same sex and are repressing your desires.
As some one just chimed in that sounds like a programmed behavior. However, I believe you're born the way your are when it comes to this matter. Sex is a choice, or there would be no such thing as rape. Who you like to have sex with is another matter. That was the argument that seemed to whoosh Gore jr.
