I received notice from Google's bots about content on FFXIAH that are in violation of their policies. It is in regards to Adult and Mature Content.

I have removed the offending posts from our forum and updated our rules with the following:

http://www.ffxiah.com/forum/topic/21172/new-forum-rules/#1284958
Quote:
Images or videos containing the following are subject for removal:
- Strategically covered nudity
- Sheer or see-through clothing
- Lewd or provocative poses
- Close-ups of breasts, buttocks, or crotches

https://support.google.com/adsense/answer/4410771

This is directly from Google Adsense publishers policy.

The offending posts were from the lol pics thread from April 2010. It was a girl in a thong, I suppose it could be considered close-up. It was quoted several times which probably set off flags.

I have informed the mods already and they will review content that might fall under these categories. Please don't post in the forum then ask if it's allowable. If you aren't sure, don't post it please. You have the option of modifying the image so that it complies. Report anything that might be in violation and I will disable ads on pages that have posts pending moderation.

Our procedure is to remove content from offending posts and issue a reminder about the "mature" content to users via PM (except for posts in the past). Users that disregard warnings will have BBCode privs removed.

If you have an questions you can post them here.

For questionable content, is it okay to link them, but not embed them?

aka something like this

Word filter restriction

Funny pic, but I know it violates the no cuss words in images rule. Simply posting the link rather than embedding the picture is easier than editing/censoring the picture, however (and people who save the funny images will probably have wanted the unedited version anyways)

I hate to go there, but I feel it's needed.

Some people like to post "plot" myself included, considering said "plot" typically or could easily include 3/4 (if not 4/4, depending on the art) of those definitions on a consistent bases, would it also be considered in violation?

Or would it depend on the piece itself? I realize you didn't make the list, but "provocative poses" is rather broad.

Google's censorship makes me sad tbh.

edit: good point was made, a lot of adds feature similar content, obviously typically not in gif form, but still rather similar.

edit2: it's good to see some red on the main page.

Understood, for profanity it's fine. I will review the policy wording more carefully, from the email it says "pages with adult or mature content". They could have put displayed or linked to be more clear but of course not. I will allow links for now for the content in my OP. If links are anything beyond that such as xxx or goatse like stuff, then always no, do not link. If I provide anymore clarification, then I will update you.

To go further on this question, if we say PM a mod or something to ask (and link or ) the questionable photo in a PM, would the all seeing eyes pick that up and report it or are PMs a sacred sanctum of secrecy?

Does this mean we'll stop seeing League of Angels ads? It's all we see close ups of breasts!

Hehe, good point. I'm sure advertisers have their own set of rules. It would be interesting to know what they are.

actually you know... I am mystified by this, I know the google ads are somewhat catered to your browsing history (I think?) I just think it's weird they scrutinize every little thing, yet have all these risque ads plastered all over the place.

Talk about anything in PMs. Just don't do anything illegal. We are hands off when it comes to PMs but they are just plain text in a database waiting for a Fed with a search warrant (hopefully that never happens).

It doesn't necessarily mean you were searching adult anime or adult themed MMO's, advertisers generally can target whatever demographic they like within reason. An advertiser for an adult MMO could target a MMO themed site knowing that the majority of guests are male.

I promise I'll make this site famous. You just might see the homepage on FOX news one day!

...if they find the body I talked about in the Long Island Sound.

i had been wondering about that ad for a while now. Considering the general rules of sites, seeing that ad kinda surprised me. Not that such a thing is out there, but that it was advertised the way it was.

Sites leading me to mail order filipina brides are embarrassing when you're in a public place. I'm not a creeper, I swear. Those hot asian ladies just seem to be crawling all over mah ad banners.

Oh and those banned XXX MMOs? I have no idea why I keep getting these ads, I swear. Cleaned out my cookies and I haven't searched porn in at least 48 hours.

Cmon Google, quit *** with me.

Doesn't this generally just means that someone browsing old post saw them and decided to complain to google. This being either out of some twisted morality they want push on others or just out of spite to cause problems? The reason the ad gets through is because no one has complained to them?

It's automated. Google gives a tag to each and every image it finds, even if the file has been renamed, it will trigger that tag if it's found.

Also, all my ads seem to be about meeting single black people and dieting. 2 things I've never once googled or really even thought about.
