It might be anything menu-based. Tried using a pet TP move from the menu (Scythe Tail) and then tried using a WS from the menu (Cloudsplitter), and both of those hard-crashed me.

Yeah I've crashed twice now, once from using Runes and again from trying to use Swordplay, both from the menu.
By Greyheim 2015-06-26 15:28:43
Ok, so before the most recent crash I caught something about an error in the rendering method with FFXIDB. I was in West Adoulin this time, so it isn't limited to a specific zone.

Mentioned it in the other thread, but for those reading this one, it's anything that requires a target to use/cast.
<stal> macros work fine, all of the same job abilities work fine, as long as they are macro'd.
I guess technically that could be a menu issue as well, but someone said that their <stpc> macro also crashed them, leading me to believe its a target issue, not a menu issue.
Plus the Critical Error of Target Array.
So for the time being, only use <stal> and macro'd abilities. Unload GS to call trusts, reload and use as normal.

Try doing JAs/spell casting/whatnot via text commands.

Just crashed on trust call WITHOUT GS loaded.
I unloaded my GS and was able to summon Aldo (UC), Amchuchu, Cherukiki and Koru just fine. Reloaded GS right after.
Could be a problem somewhere else or even choice of trusts.

Try doing JAs/spell casting/whatnot via text commands. These work fine, as mentioned above, it's just anything that involves a target of some kind.

I was able to use <stpc> fine, but <stnpc> caused a crash.

Sort of side note; BlinkMeNot, Guildwork and Infobar are the only plugins I get that cause the CRITICAL ERROR FAILED TO FIND TargetArray.

Crashed right after loading PointWatch. Tried to only unload PointWatch, still crashing on trust call. If only we could log back into the game quicker......
EDIT Same test again, crashed after GearSwap.
EDIT2 Tried, and I'm not pointing fingers, unloading all of Byrth's suite just in case same author issue with code, still crashed on trusts. I think it's the core.

I can call trusts fine, as long as I unload GS first.
Haven't touched any of the other addons yet.

Just crashed on trust call WITHOUT GS loaded.
Twice Three in a row for me now. I don't use GS, but summoning trust seemed to crash FFXIDB, making my map go poof and POL crash.
Upon logging in, console spits this message twice:
CRITICAL ERROR: FAILED TO FIND TargetArray
Further edit: I tried to use Haste Samba and crashed again. Lovely. ><

UGH I don't know what is going on, However I do see others having the same issue. I crashed to desktop after using a skill up page from my inventory also crashed when trying to call out a trust and also now.... casting sneak and I crashed... :(
By ladynamine 2015-06-26 19:58:38
I also have seen FFXIDB crash when casting a trust out. Also Guildwork is causing a "CRITICAL ERROR: FAILED TO FIND TargetArray"
to pop up as well.

The simple solution until they fix it (many people do this anyways) is to use the shortcuts plugin and type in all of your commands such as //stone4 etc.
Macro's also work of course.
If you're a fast typer this has been the most efficient way to play most mage jobs for a long time, and most melee can get by with macros.

We've figured out the cause of the Crash to Desktop that most people are experiencing, but it's going to probably take until tomorrow some time for a new wave of plugins to get pushed out that will fix it.
Guildwork will be fixed whenever we manage to coordinate a version bump with Stan.
XIDB may need to be rebuilt.
plugin_manager is fixed.

Can not say thank you enough to you Byrth and to all of you that are putting in time and efforts for us to be able to play this game. I haven't played much over the last two days so I am looking forward to being able to play this weekend !!! Thanks again to all of you !

Looks like you somehow got a corrupted spells.lua resource. Try deleting your update folder (inside your windower folder) and rerunning launcher.

For me everything seems to have changed within the Windower4 directory (not sure what). It's a bit of a pain to edit lua files/macros because it won't let me save the files. I have to copy them to desktop, edit, save and then copy them back.
Is anyone else is having this issue?

I'd check your folder properties (right click win4 folder-> properties -> security tab) and see if its locked out to read only for your user because that's what it sounds like to me.
