The problem was I tried to apply the pencil logic in digital painting because I never really use anything else other than pencil before. I was trying to make precise lines, non-squiggly lines.
I can always rotate the paper to support my best strokes but I didn't know I could rotate the canvas in photoshop. So I just had to get used to the weird angles.
The best thing about it was the fact that I can paint over mistakes, realizing that gave me confidence.
I struggled on the first two days, trust me I was ready to quit. Hearing about me getting the "wrong" tablet didnt' help. I have a 27" screen and I bought the small Intuos5 which is recommended for 17" monitors. On the third day I just paint and didn't worry about erasing. I just painted over mistakes and it worked for me.
Actually here is screenshot of me attempting to draw my damn Miqo'te.
I spent the same amount of time on each one, it just took me 3-4 more days to design the armor of the last two.
