Wow reading the news is just making me feel that the movie Idiocracy may actually happen in RL. Girl flips out and beats a teacher because she got her phone taken away. I'm sorry, but if the kid does poor on the assessment tests then the teacher gets fired even if it's really the students fault. There's no need to even have a cell phone with you if you can't practice restraint.

Kids these days have it too easy, back in my day, we didn't even know what a cellphone was, let alone have one. I'm thinking of upgrading my desktops sometime at the beginning of next year. I don't know if I'll upgrade or basically start from scratch (aside from RAM / video cards unless I can find good deals). I think new motherboards / processors would do the computers good. Bigger HDs for OS / basic storage (I have 2 1TB externals for long term / big file storage). It'd also be a fairly cheap upgrade. And she had to haul her full-tower case and monitor with her instead of a laptop. Plus, these days, you can get a laptop that's nearly as good as a desktop and 6+ hours of battery life as well. I bought my laptop just for a halfway decent gaming laptop for travels. While I was still on active duty I was traveling constantly or staying in base lodging (not barracks. hotel-like housing). Cost me a whopping $600. They're even cheaper now, too. I thought about buying another just so I'd have a personal laptop at work and at home. What bothers me is that anytime a kid is hyper -- I just thumped and killed a mosquito that landed on my laptop -- or can't focus on one thing they have either ADD or ADHD. Last time I checked that was normal. Once again, weak *** parents who can't properly discipline their children. My daughter fits in the category of ADD or ADHD I'm sure, but would I ever put her on meds for it? Hell no. A good spanking will set her *** straight. Maybe not the first time, but eventually.
