Yeah... They could tax .50 to 1.00 per bottle and 99% of people STILL won't make their own.

It's actually cheaper in the long run. Just need to keep buying your beer at the store for about a month or two until you find your right mix.

I know I'm planning on doing it soon since a batch would last me quite a bit.

Those are the people that sit at home all the time and watch TV religiously. I remember when I was buying cartons for $15. Now I can't even get a 12pk of beer for that cheap lol.

When I worked at a grocery store, the cheapest smokes you could buy were I think Pall Mall for $3.83 after tax.

Malboros were $4.87 or something. I saw people come in every single day and buy 3 packs at a time. I can't imagine spending that much on something.

But I'm also really cheap and don't like spending money. I get pissed if I buy a pop for $1.25 every day for too long.

I agree completely. I'd get pissed at my dad when I wanted / needed something and he refused cause of how much it was. I wanted to tell him to quit smoking and/or drinking for a week. That would more than cover it.

I also agree with the soda thing. Hence why I usually stick to 2-liters.

Stores are ridiculous about that. You can either spend like $1.39 on a bottle of pop, or you can get a 2-liter for 99cents if its on sale. The only difference is the bottle is probably chilled.

its 1.69 for a small bottle and like 1.00 for 2 liters when they are on sale but im not buying no huge bottle even if its cheaper :P

I'm a sweet tea guy so I rarely drink soda. I was all over it until daughter grew the problem that all little kids get when sodas around.

It's all about buying in bulk to save money.

I can't wait until our health issues turn to taxing junk food to pay for fat people camp.

$1.25 for 20oz. ~1.45 for 1-liter. ~1.00-1.50 for 2-liter.

Why would you not buy the 2-liter? (other than when on the road travelling or otherwise unable to chill the 2-liter)

I love sweet tea. I've been meaning to get more, but the local grocery store doesn't have the red diamond brand. Maybe that's what I need to do to get away from sodas.

Not sure what the health difference is between sweet tea and soda. They both have a crapload of sugar (at least the good kinds).

They already are kinda. They're trying to tax sodas to make America stop buying as many.

I make my tea with Lipton Tea, 2/3 Cup of Sugar so it's not real sweet like the way you Southern folk like it.

***I can barely get buy with just normal shopping to have 3 square meals a day. This world can't live like that for how much the avg. income is.

DoD needs to pay it's people extra for food allowance if they have dependants. They accomodate it with housing allowance so why not a bit more for food?

Just read stuff from a page back about the alchohol tax, anyway...

.02 cents is not going to change anything. I work part time in a liquor store in Massachusetts as a 2nd job and they just added a 6.25% tax onto all alchohol not just beer. This was not a tax increase since nothing was taxed at all since it is already taxed by the distributors which is factored into the cost when we buy it.

The only thing this has changed from the customer is they complain a lot more but it does not stop them from buying it. If anything the store has got busier since the tax had been added. It will take a lot more then $.02 to stop people from drinking.

The problem with taxing all this stuff people eat/drink/use every day. They're just gonna increase the "cost of living". And they'll just want to increase the minimum wage again.

Yeah, minimum wage is crazy. Back in my day...

I don't have a coffee pot so I can brew my own tea yet. When I do that'll be the cost effective way to go. I grew up with the home-brewed kind.

You and your ninja edits.

I agree on both points. I consider myself extremely lucky with the jobs I've had. The only problems I've had financially were either self-caused by overextension or tenants *** me over.

Lol everyone sees it as a Q.Q from drinkers. I brought it up because of how we thought that simple tea tax was too extreme and infringed on our rights. We revolted and became the USA. Now we're doing the same thing these days. We all know social programs don't have a big enough success rate to say they're useful. So how is all this money really being spent?

Krizz you can boil water on the stove. Costs a bit more to boil that water, but you still get your tea.

I'll double post next time.

Yeah, but that's not how we did it. I want the same tea I grew up with. I don't think stove boiled water would come out the same.

lol... Of course there's corruption in any government and this money isn't being used as efficiently as it should be... But, that "simple tea tax" was a bit more than that. lol

Ya you won't have that extra caffeine from the coffee that went through it earlier in the day. Lol. I wouldn't be picky if that was the only way to do it at my house.

To simplify what happen was the taxing of almost everything back then. Tea just set off the bomb. Ya there was more to it than that, but taxing for self greed pushed it all.

In other news, I'm glad I don't have to worry about rank missions anymore.

On the same note, several of the rank people are interested in ToAU missions as well. We may end up putting something together for those.

How does ToAU rank on lengthiness and difficulty compared to CoP and RoZ? Same for WoG.

I know ToAU is a pain because of all the waiting for JP midnight.

Besides the boat fight you need a party (mission 12 or something?) I solo'd everything until mission 33 or something. There are 44 missions, the last 2 being the hardest.

That's what I was thinking. I'm on royal puppeteer now. Iza is 2-3 missions behind me. The undersea scouting one. We just haven't taken the time to get her caught up. I stopped since I was too low to farm the marlboros for the mission item.

ToAU is pretty easy as long as you have people with multiple jobs. JP Midnight is a killer for this series of missions. I for one really wouldn't like to do this all over again, but I'll help if you need a filler. I'd rather try to push CoP for more than one day a week if we're just gonna stop after sea access.

Majority of the ToAU missions are quests. Not a lot of fights, but to me they all sucked. Most have a NPC you need to keep from getting killed. Just like your 9-2 fight last night.

I was silently watching that John Mayer thread last night. I really think FFXIAH should implement 3-7 day bans for people.

Yeah, if we honestly revolted because of the tea tax alone I'd say we were spoiled whiny *** back then, too. >_>;
