Not a surgical procedure, but a backread of P&R offers the same results.

Back Alley Eddie failed out of both med and vet school, but I'm sure he could give a frontal lobotomy a shot. Just let Parker know you have an eight ball handy.

Ok going back in time what is the oldest relative whose first name you know without looking it up and how old would they be if they were alive. Example: Grandpa Fred 110

Hesitant to answer this one...

...Uncle Adolf. 101.

Technically I could say my great grandfather Julius, but I don't know how old he'd be today.

Edit: Pursuant to Nik's follow-up I see he may have meant oldest you've met.

That would be Grandma Lil. She'd be 91.

anyone you can remember an important life's lesson from.

Mine is Grandpa Bob 120 or so and "Don't take any wooden nickles"
Which he mentioned on one occasion when he got deep in his scotch

The point being that we (the royal we as in all of us gathered here today) are already pretty *** stupid.

In my case, the collected wisdom of 50,000 years of my human ancestors evolving over the centuries, the grand sum of all the wisdom gathered and gleaned from this world.... is some old drunk muttering about a An American adage, ("Don't take any wooden nickels" is considered a lighthearted reminder to be cautious in one's dealings. )

which of course he never explained. Thanks a bundle grandpa... >.>

Our influence in this world will span about a hundred years or so.
If we're lucky... and then nobody will remember us or anything we ever said or did or thought or believed was important....

Everything grandpa bob's dad may have told him about life and the great mysteries therein were lost... in a bottle of scotch on a couch in akron... I have no idea how he got there or why and kinda don't even care....

And so whatever we tell our kids and grandkids will one day also be forgotten and while our decisions SEEM to impact greatly those around us unless you do something truly horrific, nobody will ever remember us.

Tldr: Nothing we say or do really matters which is probably good because we're idiots

I think what grandpa bob was trying to tell me was that, even then nearing the end of his long brutal life... he didn't have a clue wtf the point of any of it was....so why bother trying to pass on any "wisdom" when I was just as dumb as he was I would probably never understand it anyways....

Nobody ever did offer me any wooden nickles...But I did learn to appreciate good scotch... so in the end it's warmth will cradle me in death like a blanket like all my ancestors before me....

presumably.... who knows... maybe they were all abstainers...

I can't remember their names let alone anything else.

Well, Grandma Lil taught me a lot, but one of the biggest things wasn't spoken as much as something learned over time by observing her. She was a genuinely wonderful person with some glaring flaws viewed through the lens of modern times and that's just how some people are.

The kind of person who could admire the hell out of a black person -- she was a huge Colin Powell fan, for instance -- but still drop a casual N-bomb without a thought in the world. She also was absolutely loathe to believe women could be equal to men in a lot of ways. She would not believe my aunt, mother, or cousin ever knew better than her, but if my uncle, my stepfather, or myself told her the same thing, she'd defer and then just assume our female counterparts must have gotten their information from us...

But all at the same time, she didn't have a single malignant bone in her body* thought in her head. Things just were the way they were and she wasn't about to change what she had always done or worked for her for you or anyone else.

*Crossed-out portion done so because despite being a common idiom, it's literally inaccurate, she had a bone-related cancer at one point in the distant past that she managed to beat. :x

Grandma Buzzy's (turned 88 in May) best advice, inversely, has ever been, "This too shall pass."

Because ***happens. It passes or you expire. One or the other. That's just how it is.

Grandpa Ralph died before I was born, Grandpa Kenny died when I was six and I can't remember a single thing he ever said.

I remember him being really nice to me and doing awesome things with me.

I still have a wooden bomber plane we built together out in the garage out of wood scraps.

But I can't remember any specific words.

I'm not sure there has ever been a greater satirist than Frank Zappa, in part because not only did he create scathing satire of society that people didn't quite get, it was doubly poignant because he was at times also a satire of himself. Even better than Andy Kaufman, imo.

We're not pretending anything.

We're a ridiculously young country in the grand scheme of things that's sole claim to fame is that we have no history. We're a melting pot of everyone else's rejects.

So we appropriate what culture we can if it makes us feel a part of something older or greater than us.

And then we drink beer to emphasize those good feelings before we remember that we're just appropriating our genetic ancestors' histories because we've got nothing of the sort here. It's technically ours, but we know we're forcing it...hence the beer.
