Okay...So, you know those people who dole out adulation and congratulations over the most tedious or expected things? Not just a brown-noser but someone, who after a bit of observation over a relatively long period, you realize is doing it specifically so you will return accolades over minutia? The kind that sits there and stares at you while waiting for you to compliment or acknowledge that they're basically doing their job.
Ugh...I work with that type of person. I can't handle him on Monday mornings. /shudders

Our president is a woman here, & sometimes, I walk into her office & you can tell your best bet is to stay silent, turn around, & walk out.
