Noobest Thing You've Ever Done?

Me and my fellow level 42 real life friend went to Behemoths Dominion and waited 25 Mins and we're getting butt hurt because Behemoth hadn't popped yet. We wanted to duo him for some loots.

Spent my first 3 months on WHM targeting people only by clicking on them with the mouse and then going into my magic list. This was before I knew what macros were or how to target party with F1-6. My parties wiped. A lot. I was that bad.

My LS enlightened me after I told them I diaga'd the lizards in the CN ball room from accidentally picking the wrong spell on the magic list.

Spent an hour doing skillchains on COR with a SAM friend to unlock Detonator only to find out I still had Armageddon equipped.

I MPK'd 4 parties at Citadel entrance with linked bats back when mobs didn't depop.

Kinda funny now but I was horrified then and didn't pull for years afterwards.

Thought I was bidding on Airlixer +2, my bid $3.3mil, bid accepted, then realized I bought a stack of +1's =(

probably accidentally warp myself and just die a lot.

Was powerleveling myself using a buddy's whm back at 75 cap in eastern altepa. He was running low on mp, so i popped a silent oil on myself and went to rest on him. Unfortunately, a cactuar had wandered close while i wasn't paying attention, and aggro'd my buddy's toon as soon as I rested with him. So then of course Rapido decided to show up right then, linked with the cactuar, and killed my buddy's toon, all while I stood there on my toon sneaked up just laughing.

I was in a BST33 around 2003-2004 and we were XPing in Garlaige Citadel. (Back then, getting LV35 was so important because you got Leave). Anyway, I call a jug pet to fight against the Beetles. After the 2nd or 3rd Beetle, the BLM types "AGGRO! AGGRO!" and casts Escape. When we're outside the Citadel, we ask why he did that? He said "There was a sheep attacking us". We were too busy laughing to be mad.

TL;DR: LV33-35 XP PT in Garlaige. BLM thought my sheep jug pet was agro so he cast Escape. :)

During the 75 cap where dynamis was still a big thing I finally leveled up my pld and got it all nice and geared up. That night my shell did dyna-sandy and I was the designated assist for the mages to get stones.

what I didn't know is that I had to be engaged to a mob by this point for /assist to work(I was a DD mostly prior to this point). So the entire run became a deathfest with the mages going "what, why how and who?!" and I would just stand around like an idiot voking stones wondering why the mages weren't destroying them.

And no one had dinner that night.

To be fair, I had just woken up from a nap 20 minutes earlier when I did this.

Yes, I meant the shield.

Only screw up I've ever been completely ashamed of was back when I was WHM only and I was pots in the Temple of Uggalepih for BLM scrolls and probably bees for honey/hivechips because I was a cheap taru and they were worth decent gil. You know that era when WHM learns hexastrike with decent ws gear and thinks they are a real DD while we are on weak to blunt mobs!

As I'm resting up my mp for another fight I notice a THF wipe to this Tonberry NM at ~50% left on it's HP. Another THF watching grabs it, dies eventually and RR's up to just die again.

I decide what the hell, I'll try! I got RR up, it's only at ~5% now, what's the worst that could happen. I claimed the NM, build up TP, 100% > hexa strike and kill it. It drops some gil which I was thinking "all right 10k gil from this nm! I can almost afford blessed trousers now with these beehive chips!" Hey look, it also dropped this dagger for THF but I don't play THF. Maybe I can sell it. Later I get back to town, put my beechips/honey up on the AH. I looked for the dagger but didn't see it in my inventory. Checked my logs and it shows it being dropped because my inventory was full. I'm pretty sure i only had like 40-50 slots then too ... like I said I was a cheap taru.

Anyone remember back around ~2004/2005 when RMT sold gil for like $2 per million around Christmas holidays? That drove up the price of everything to stupid levels. I do.

You know what else I remember about that time? That a Thief's Knife was worth ~200M and I left it rot in a full loot pool inventory so I could hoard my beehive chips and blm scrolls. I was so mad that I rage quit that night, sold everything in my inventory to the nearest NPC, uninstalled my game, and broke my install discs.

Next month I noticed my monthly fee came out again (I never canceled my account obviously) but now I couldn't install POL to turn it off because I broke the disc. I had to buy another game to reinstall it, just to deactivate my POL ID. Well ... I reinstalled it and then continued to play for another 5 years.

TLDR-- Dumb taru drops Thief's Knife and hoards beehive chips instead!

Hahahah this reminds me of when I used to hang out in West Ronfaure with Diabolos out and invis up putting new players on /follow~

I used an instant warp scroll instead of a rr scroll in Dynamis after only just entering, only a month or so ago. Silly noobs!

Realise a week later names cannot be changed...

Oh! My very first character, I leveled war up to 32 before being told about subjobs. Didn't even know what they were.

In an old Dynamis LS, I put myself on autorun+follow on another DD so I could answer the door to my apartment. The other guy swapped gear and my char went bounding off on his own in Dynamis-Windurst. Aggro'd everything...

Forgetting about procs in VW and killing an nm with barely any lights because I did'nt read the chat.
This is basicly what annoyed me the most ever in this game, and one day I found myself doing the same thing.

nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo. I completely forgot about this until I read this. I threw out ALL my seals for like the first 5 years i played. no one in ls's ever really talked about BCNM so I just assumed these were a waste of space. It wasn't until Harpunnik asked me to help him try bst duoing the uh... bat one for astral ring that i forehead palmed.

A long time ago...

Bought a Hakutaku Eye Cluster to pop Hakutaku.
Spent hours trying to get alliance to pop site, then popped 'em.
I came as a RDM/DRK as second stunner, only to realize I was a RDM/WHM.

Few Months later, went to Monarch Linn for Chains of Promathia fight and entered fight with my ls. Realized my provokes did not work because I was NIN/BLM.

I was ready to crawl under a rock.

Believed a few friends (Xmysticlegend and Loughry) that Joyeuse had hidden jobs. Camped it for hours before they lol'ed and told me the truth...

..Back in the day when i only had DRK and NIN 75

Was in front of sandy with a few friends, then I heard this rumbling noise then i see this big orange thing walk in my screen from behind, scared the mess out of me so I took off and ran to sandy zone. When I zoned in I see a bunch of lol's and lmao. I said what the hell was that. Then one of my friends said you just ran from the summon Titan...... lol

also had full intention to be Pld/Sam thinking that i would be the best offensive tank in the game ;/

When I first started, I was a little WHM whacking Mandies with a stick. I was under the impression I could avoid getting by running around, lol. So, for about an hour straight, I was constantly running circles around Mandies until my friend was like, "What the hell are you doing?"

A short while after, I made it down the trail and eventually met my first aggressive mob. I was minding my own business, killing a bee and suddenly a big black bird comes up behind me and starts attacking me. I died shortly after, but I remember how upset I was: "I WASN'T EVEN DOING ANYTHING TO IT!"

Went to a Delve as WAR/BLM a few nights ago.

Sadly, still outparsed the other DD in my party with the 99 Ukon I had.
