Just updated last post with a base 42% DT- set (45% PDT), without Vocane. Easy to add a little bit of PDT-/BDT- gear to cap both, and MDT should be a given with Shell.
Don't really see why there's a need to hit 50% in pure "Damage Taken" gear unless you're just testing to see if this is some new type of damage that is neither Physical, Magical, or Breath (which seems highly unlikely).
If you really want to just toss Vocane on there for Teles testing/farming purposes, it's maybe not the worst idea. But to be clear for other people, this is a pretty niche use of a reward ring (or just someone with enough bayld who doesn't mind paying to just swap it out later). For 99+% of RUN applications, Vocane is unnecessary and wasteful.
By geigei 2015-12-20 06:04:45
Yes just for testing, last time i had a mix of dt, bdt, mdt and survived few 2300 calls, could be non elemental, dunno.
Good find on bidenhander, missed it completely.

As far as just pure DT- solely for test purposes, I don't think you can hit 50% on RUN without Vocane, maybe someone can correct me if I missed something. Best I came up with is 47%:
ItemSet 340393
Augments: DT-2% on Herculean pieces.
Equivalent pieces:
- Mollusca Mantle for same DT-5% as a max Evasionist's Cape
- Pakecet hands for same DT-2% as augmented Herc
- Fugacity Beret +1 for same DT-2% as augmented Herc
- Lunette Ring +1 DT-3% latent is active whenever engaged, consumes MP (2/tic I think)
Though, it's probably a lot easier to test by just using PLD instead of RUN. Much easier to hit 50% in raw DT- gear. Here's a set showing DT-67%, so obviously doesn't require all of it.
ItemSet 340394
Yorium hands DT-3% augment, Amm Greaves DT-2% augment. Valorous armor set from Reisenjima can also get DT-3% augment on any piece.

Allready made it, 47 is needed to cap with 3 from vorseals, herc cap at 4 but gl with that.

as far as for general soloing of CP and playing as a DD, are we pretty much best off gearing close to BLU at this point? my current dicking around set is below, and additional insight is welcome:
ItemSet 334946
Augments:
Zulfiqar - DMG+29, STR+20, Acc +14, Att +9, FC +1
Adhemar Bonnet/Jacket: Path A
Adhemar Wristbands: Path B
Samnuha Tights are shy of perfect: STR +8, DEX +9, DA +3, TA +2
Herculean Boots: DEX +3, Acc +26, Att +6, TA +2.
Evasionist's Cape (yes, I know it's not Bleating. so much to do so little time): DA +2, Enmity +7, Embolden +9, -DT 3%

Oh. And yeah, GL indeed... didn't even know they went that high and I'm sure it's excruciating to do.

They can get the same augments across each piece, with the main variation being what you chose for an augment type (Melee, Ranged, Magic, Pet). I've only done Melee and Magic, so I don't know all of them or their caps, but the highest I recall seeing:
MELEE
Triple Attack +4
Store TP +6
Dual Wield +5
Weaponskill Damage +5
Critical Hit Rate +5
Critical Hit Damage +5
Counter +5
Physical Damage Taken -5
Magic Damage Taken -5
Damage Taken -3
MAGIC
Fast Cast +?
Magic Burst +?
Double Attack (no joke) +?
Conserve MP +?
Magic Damage +?
Weaponskill Damage +?
and I forget what else

Only changes to the melee caps are that Dual Wield can cap at 6, and -DT can cap at 4.
As for magic, I have zero idea what the caps are, but I know I've seen DA, crit rate, and STP while choosing magic. Why I see those is utterly beyond me, but that's SE for you.

and I forget what else very helpful, but not quite what i was asking. in the "melee" section of augs, what falls in each slot? i assume a base stat is one slot. then maybe acc/racc/macc/ then maybe a ability boost? is that how the slots work?

This link has some helpful information on how the stones and augment system functions: https://www.bg-wiki.com/bg/Category:Escha_Rewards/Arcane_Glyptics_Inscription
It has some incorrect caps, but overall, it explains the system very well.

interesting, I've been looking at that page and it must have changed in the last 6 hours lol. as originally said, i was looking to put counter and pdt (or dt-) on the same piece. it was said that they take the same slot. so i was wondering what augs go in each slot, i don't thin k that page explains it.

At the very beginning of the page it discusses the 5 possible slots on a piece of gear and how each stone interacts with those slots.
The first slot is for accuracy, attack, or attack/accuracy.
Second is for special stats, such as crit rate, TA, PDT and the like.
Third is for attributes, such as STR and DEX.
Fourth slot has an additional accuracy stat, and does not always show up.
Fifth slot has an additional attack slot, and does not always show up.
You cannot have two rolls per slot, so you cannot have both counter and PDT.

Anybody bored enough to share some sets for Sword WS?
I'm mostly interested in seeing what people are using for Savage Blade, Requiescat, Vorpal Blade and Sanguine Blade.
(am I missing any other relevant sword WS?)

ItemSet 340435
Use it, love it. Other ws's while i do have sets for them are just useles, if you're part of sc too it doesnt really matter what you use, just stack acc. Sanguine can fill you up and many nm's.

If we're talking about high level stuff I absolutely agree, your damage will be irrelevant regardless and your role is just to open/close a SC for the mages to MB upon and deal the "real" source of damage.
But if you're soloCPing or doing low level content etc, in situations like this the WS will actually produce real damage and I think Savage Blade (with high enough TP) and Vorpal Blade can deal some decent damage.
I assume you have magic augs on that Sanguine Blade herculean pieces? Guess for a WS like Sanguine Blade you can kinda use the same set you use for Lunge/Swipe, with some variations.
By geigei 2015-12-22 06:34:10
Yes, mab on those, i've seen well over 10k sanguines and will ***on savage on trash too unless mob resist magic or dark, my savages do 3k-5k on apex crabs/pugils, on trash up to 10k but i really dont care cause i dont go run doing those.
And yes lunge is herc feet/legs/head with mab augms.

You can check out BLU guide for good sets for those WS, both jobs shares same gears so their sets are mostly the same.

My sanguine set is pretty much the same as this except I use MAB+12 back from incursion. Req actually could be useful, if you do NM that needs it. I believe savage/vorpal may has it's use in endgame if you tank with DW build.
