makes perfect sense for BLU + RUN, but I mostly need STR for my other jobs.
Well uhm... arguable for head.
DNC => Evisceration is Dex based
NIN => Blade: Hi is DEX based, Blade: Shun is Dex based, Blade: Ku is STR/DEX, Blade: Jin is STR/DEX
MNK => STR based, or STR/VIT based, DEX helps for ccrit tiers on Vsmite (and for acc!)
PUP => STR based or STR/VIT, DEX helps for ccrit tiers on Vsmite/Spummel (and for acc!)

So yeah, I guess DEX wouldn't be such a bad choice either hmmmm
Sigh need to make up my mind.

Yeah, I've run into this too. Uk'uxkaj Cap as the biggest example, there's no way I could justify passing up STR since I play a lot of MNK PUP, and Smite/Pummel are heavily STR-modded crit WS.

If I was only choosing for RUN though, would have jumped all over DEX. Would also be very strong for Evisceration.

Maybe typo, but Blade: Hi is AGI based, though since it can crit DEX helps a bit. I actually stuck AGI on Kaabnax Trousers for Hi, Exenterator, and will have to look at some of my ranged WS like Last Stand.

Buremte Gloves => Making a piece similar to Umuthi (but with 2% less haste) with same PDT but additional -2MDT and the cure pot received excited me. But when you think about the evasion, magic evasion and defense difference with Umuthi I'm not sure if it's gonna be worth it... And I don't really know what to get here. STR to compensate for its lack? More DEX for Evisceration jobs? (and Dimidation!) Hard choice...

Buremte Gloves really excited me too, both for the Umuthi-like piece you mentioned (with added cure pot received!) and the DEX possibility... Now I think I'll likely just slap DEX on them and be done with it, but I care less because I'm not sure when I'd really use them.

In situations where I'd need the Acc, it's likely I'm tanking something hard where I'd want the better DEF/iLevel/attributes of Umuthi (which aren't bad for Acc themselves to begin with). If I'm doing something where I don't need much Acc and want DD stats, Qaaxo A or Futhark+1 would be better.

For Dimidiation, Futhark+1 will win in situations where you don't need mega-acc in the slot (which isn't quite as big a concern on a 2-hit WS, especially when you're likely to want to use Ele belt/gorget anyway).

Relevant WS stats:
Futhark+1: STR+11 DEX+35 Attack+18 Enmity+4
Buremte (pre-augment): STR+9 DEX+31 Accuracy+20

i'm leaning towards doing fast cast and either more haste or pdt on my buremte gloves. not a fan of swapping in thaumas for fast cast and losing ilevel while trying not to be interrupted.

I went with the 4% PDT on Buremte because I don't have Umuthi yet; I've been tanking with Buremte full-time anyway so it's really a boost. However, if I get Umuthi, I'll probably change the Burmete to a WS piece, likely STR. I do wish the shared augments for armor had more offensive options though.

Dimidation is Light/Fragmentation. Makes light with Fudo and Kasha. Therefor, Light/Flame/Breeze/Thunder all work

If you're using Gearswap, it's an infinitely small period of time. So small that you can get a Quick Magic proc and still switch to your aftercast.

So in the end, which WS are worth bothering to gear for, other than Resolution and Dimidation?
Bumping this

Tnx Prothescar for the gorgets data.
And thanks McKenze for the Buremte idea, think I'm gonna stick FC on them now and store my Thaumas gloves.

It's a good idea to have some sort of a set for Herculean Slash. Just don't go too far out of your way.

Why is that? Because it's the only decent Magic-based WS we have?
I'd be happy to see a good Herculean Slash set.

Pretty much. I just use Lunge stuff+whatever has the highest VIT that I have with me. If it's a piece of armor that has a small amount of MAB and isn't iLVL, then the iLVL piece with decent VIT is probably better. One of these days when I'm super bored I'll have to look at a couple slots more carefully.

if you're desperate for a magic WS, may as well use Sanguine Blade

That would require single wielding a sword. Herc slash is more of a "dammit it has high physical resistance / takes obscene magic damage" extremely situational ws. Its why we just use our lunge set, too niche to bother with a specialized gear set. I know in skirmish III that I have run into nms where h.slash ends on doing more then reso. Of course that was before I got Dim so not sure how it all stacks up now.

One that doesn't require you to swap weapon is even better :P
Did you guys try Dimidiation btw?

I noticed number similar but lower than Resolution (and I don't have Moonshade Earring with TP Bonus, heard it bumps Reso by 1000ish at 1000 TP).
Numbers were similar I said, at 1000, but Dimi was lower.
At 3000 TP the difference was bigger (favouring Reso).
Tried only on Stryx in Marjami Ravine, on Achuka and on Yumcax.
Used Aettir.
Uhm... was using Trial Blade on Stryx actually.

I was getting Dim doing more but that's with a Dex ws set, moonshade, gorget and wanion. Since I don't know the ftp values and whether it copies or not I just went for extremely high dex. Moonshade just adds 25TP so its the same as wsing at 125 instead of 100. SE jacked up the ftp anchor points at 200/300 on many ws's so you get 15~20%; extra damage from that same 25tp boost. Its kinda overpowered SAM again due to the extreme scaling.

Right now it's looking like 2.25 @ 1000, 4.5 @ 2000, and somewhere between 6.5 and 7 @ 3000. Highly doubt fTP transfers but I'll check when I'm done.

If it's "Damage Varies with TP" just like Resolution, I'd assume Elemental Belt would beat out Wanion.

Is it two hit then? Really seems to be so and probably typical 1.0 ftp on each extra hit.

Because there are several ws's that say one thing but are different. With SE you never assume help text is 100% accurate. "Two fold attack" could mean two hits, one hit that does more damage, or something entirely different.
