There an update where they nerfing everything 29 July? Cant find any info on this, but on that note why on earth would they nerf it? A competent LS can handle them now. I see no reason for the nerf. Way i see it, if you want the stuff and your LS cant do it, might be time to join a better LS? dunno how elite minded some people are. Me, not bothered much, but meh if people are winning now regardless of strategy, then its not overly difficult. Nerfing this game (ala Abyssea) is the reason why this game has gine down hill in years. Bring back the difficulty! Bring back the challenge ( and no not Voidwatch, that was just plain stupid lol)

I must admit, I am a bit sad that some few already won against the delve bosses. I hoped that this would take much longer. That this would be an incredible challenge, like AV back in 2006.

Well just think these are not the final bosses only level 14 the level 20 bosses have not been introduced so keep hope alive...

For some reason I was under the impression the areas not open are where the level 20 bosses are actually that's about it.
edi: I see where I got off on the official post only SE puts in the level 20 content before the level 17 content. Got to love em.

Thank you for the clear up. So ill just macro it in with i use impetus and switch back to Thaumas. Im gathering that is adequate. I dont have VS so i'm at present using SS so Mani body with the dex and acc seems a better option to ws in than tantra. of course toci is ideal but that never drops for me lol

We farm plasm killing T5 under 3min about 14500 plasm/h/char everyone leaving with a ton of airlixir(+1) so yeah.
So much airlixirs that you still didn't show your RNG's gear.

Can't understand why such the big deal over Plasm/Airlixirs anyway.
Our Tojil kill generated 1,244,500 Plasm and 190m Gil.
Our Muyingwa kill generated 1,382,000 Plasm and 25m Gil (Plus 9% Haste belt still to sell)
Airlixirs/Plasm/Gil are not remotely a problem. I do not know where he has got this gimp notion from.

If i recall right, SE's "nerfs" to current content is really just going to be filling in the content levels in between 1-20 to improve gear/power of characters so they have a better chance at tackling harder stuff.

I gave up ever trying to guess exactly what SE will do when it comes to nerfing something in some bizarre way to make things way to easy or make current methods completely useless.

Without NNI, or Legion gear, and given the fact you are shooting for delve gear as well, this would be my suggestion to shoot for in the long run.

Mostly delve gear with the mix of gears you are already targeting. I chose Omodaka Gote since you already seem to be successful in salvage, so they should be a fast and easy upgrade. As for the suggestion of which gear to target first for delve gear here it is:
Rigor's > Steelflash+Bladeborn > Brais > Jerkin > Asperity Necklace.
Augments to Jerkin/Brais would be Type"A" Attack path naturally. Those gears are rather good right "out of the box" even without augments, and will get better as your plasm/gil allow.
If anyone has an alternative suggestion on that order, I'd welcome it.

Natenn did a not so smart *** comment a few posts ago claiming that I can't tank tier III or IV NMs on mnks. That's what the sentence you quoted is referring to. As supspected he goes pld to the boss, so his comment likely means he thinks tier III and IV are hardz. If we follow the devs scale on mobs, they said tier 5 mobs are level 15 difficulty while boss are level 20, so we can expect 33% more evasion, meaning as simple capped delve gear set paired with sushi and madrigals from a a real bard will cap your acc. it doesn't matter how great you think your MNK is, no melee is gonna tank a mega boss in delve especially not some arrogant 1 minded slob to stubborn to conform to current times. I only tank the mega boss,. ccl/Jem can tank the lesser NM fine while im out finding the next NM. Why should i really care if you "tank" the same baby NMs on MNK? Any retard MNK with a DMG taken set can survive with a bot whm/healers since you get what? 2200+ HP? I go THF For TH unless we're farming inside, until you can kill a delve boss(which probably wont be till after rem update at the very least) your opinion holds no water. Meanwhile we're killing them now w/o the update, what does that say about your "group" aka 2 maby 3 POSSIIBLY 4 ppl 3~4 boxing? Are you honestly calling yourself better then ppl who kill delve bosses easily when you yourself are unable? You would die so many times if not instantly if you tried to melee a fracture naakaul.

MNK can obviously handle anything but the bosses. The problem you fail to grasp is that you're going to need to turtle up in order not to die if you are tanking. I'm sure you realize how pitiful your damage output would be based on the monsters stats. ScherzoEA strat wouldn't work unless you can get it to the point where every one of his attacks would be lethal.

To be fair, I think that would actually be more of a MNK-specific issue than a universal one. If capped PDT makes damage intake reasonable, MNK would have relatively little trouble hitting the PDT and haste caps simultaneously. MNK's accuracy is pretty terribad against something with these evasion levels though, and a turtle build would certainly compound that

Yeah, that was mostly my point. MNK hybrid set really hurts for accuracy. You're going to need every ounce of accuracy you can get to deal respectable damage against these things.

The issue isn't just that you won't be able to do sufficient damage in a Hybrid set, it's that you might not be able to survive after Lahar in a Hybrid set. It's not possible to stun every Lahar + Meteor + Kaustra either due to building stun resistance.

Yeah, for Tojil Lahar is pretty much the main crunch point that stops you from throwing melees at it.
It's not just the greatly reduced survivability when weakened, you're also suffering a massive DPS drop too. And he really loves to spam Lahar (or at least he did for our 3 fights with him!)
Surviving might be possible with EA/Scherzo but you're still lumped with that DPS penalty from being weakened.
