If you're planning on playing with Gearswap or you are micromanaging your gearsets, you will want more sets defined than those above. The sets above don't modify depending on how much haste you're getting which is a large factor to increased damage.
More haste? Less dual wield necessary. You get the idea.
Any of the three RME's hold up great. Each has their own unique bonus. But you have a kikoku, you should know this!
Tancho +1 is a great main hand if you do not have access to the above three. It is also the best offhand for high tier fights where you need ACC/skill. For everything else there is Taikogane OAT, offhand wise.
Also, I am super stoked to see what our new Job Points will be as well as the new armor!
How's Kikoku 119 holding up with the added triple dmg and 40 atk these days compared to Tancho +1? ( As Mainhand Katanas )
I've used tancho+1 mainhanded with the wkr oat katana offhand, that was really solid for pretty much every game activity.
Made a kikoku and now main that with the tancho+1 offhanded for hard stuff.
Don't really need an RME to play ninja effectively but its cool to have one if you want to invest that heavily in the job.

Yeah I made one not too long ago, just about when adoulin was coming around, wished the investment had a bit more of a lifespan, even at 119 it looked like it wasn't that much of a contender among the new 119's of that time.
Tancho was pretty easy to get too for how good the katana is. Does the triple dmg at 12% +40 atk make up for the lack of base dmg? ( Kikoku )
Sapphire is correct in that you do not need to make a RME to perform well on nin, but it is a fun weapon. The bonuses you mentioned do help kikoku, as well as the lower delay and the boost to Metsu. Metsu is a consistent performer. It looks badass too!

I should have worded it in a way, insinuating that I had already made one and was curious about its mileage these days xD . Sorry for the confusion.
Those Taeon boots seemed pretty wicked. Put them into the spreadsheet and have them coming ahead by a good margin in completely unbuffed(haste march wise)/no trust situations. Once you add just haste alone otronif(mine are aug'd with Crit +2) start pulling ahead again.
I did have berserk/aggressor/Yonin up during test
Target was K. Raaz
No Haste:
Otronif +1 (Crit+2)...... Taeon Boots(base/no aug) SET DPS: 879.128...... SET DPS: 955.520
Haste:
Otronif +1 (Crit+2)...... Taeon Boots(base/no aug) SET DPS: 1050.302...... SET DPS: 1020.658
The Taeon boots I put in had NO augments.
I did put the augments I saw on the front page (dex+9/ACC+18/DW+5 augs) on one of the sheets, same thing happened however.
Personally, I will be shooting for FC on my boots/hands/legs depending on how much gil I want to throw away. Then I have to do Helios too....uuggghh!

EDIT: Damn just saw a pair on BG with acc/att +6/TA+2%/Crit DMG +3%.
This pair was slightly ahead of otronif +1 in both situations I did. was within 10 dps of each other.

Sechs: People are so focused on getting the new armor (and are so reliant on their RME weapons) that I feel we're not giving the necessary attention to weapons.
I feel many of them became much more interesting than people are realizing right now.
Pulled this from BG because I thought it was relevant to our previous Izuna talks. I know Sechs recently was able to get -3% delay on a weapon and Sapphire made a crazy Polearm. That said, Izuna with some of the new aug's might be worth looking into again as a good offhand or main (if you dont have RME). Thankfully I will have to do a lot of Cirdas for snow stones so I can pick up another Izuna!
Izuna now 2nd best Katana pulling ahead of Kannagi with just DMG+10 (acc/att+20, wsd+5%) and idk but might be able to get DMG~15+ on Izuna.
Haven't messed with Izuna any so assuming such augs possible.
I'll have to run izuna through the dps sheets when I get some free time, but your assertion sounds off. I've yet to get Nagi coming out on top due to kamu. It does okay with am3 up, but any time it's down dps plummets.
Just ran a few tests on Tojil with -20% def, NIN/WAR, march 2, min 4 + 5, mad 2, boost str, chaos(35%) + fighters(16%), RCB, haste II, zerk + aggressor + sange + innin. BRD had AF3 set+3, March+4, Min+4, Mad+5.
Full Taeon set pretty much... acc/att 20, ta2, crit.dmg 3%.
Kannagi - using blade hi
AM3 up - 1367 DPS
AM1 up - 1305 DPS
AM Down - 1212 DPS
Nagi
AM3 Up, using Hi - 1275 DPS
AM Down, using Kamu - 884 DPS
AM Down, using Hi - 1174 DPS
These weapons are a little hard to spreadsheet out, since we can only see 100% ideal perfect situations laid out. The difficulty of maintaining AM3 has to be considered.
It's also worth noting that you can consistently overwrite AM1 with Kannagi, and always maintain that 1305 DPS without having to try very hard. This is really nice in situations where it's really hard to maintain AM3. (i.e. roaming around)
** I'm not sure if the Kamu stats are 100% correct in the DPS sheet.
Why are you comparing Kamu vs Hi? Its not going to come close unless your crit rate takes a huge hit and you are taking a huge hit on attack at the same time.

Because Nagi is forced to use Kamu and other weapons are not. I thought that was obvious, sorry for not clarifying.
I mentioned earlier, it's not simple and the DPS sheets don't portray the reality of maintaining AM. I'm just providing the "possible" DPS numbers from various scenarios you will without a doubt find yourself in using these weapons.
Tbh I'm not sure how it's possible to have Kannagi beating Nagi. I have it with Sange up, which helps kannagi more than Nagi, chaos+56% and stp+70 COR rolls, boost str+25, -15% def vs Tojil using magma, agressor, berserk, innin, 1 march, 1 mad, 1 min, hasteII.
It all seems pretty close imo now with Taeon diminishing AM3 dominance over other wpn choices yet Mythic still best. I was more surprised about Kannagi and Kikoku tho and where they stand.
Eventho I have Kannagi I'll wind up doing augs on Izuna.
