Closing in on Almace so I am starting to look at my set and thinking of possible upgrades....

Questions/comments:

1.) Never have any luck on the thunder sachet - is black tathlum (dex+1 accuracy+4 attack+4) an OK option for now? Lol i dun goofed...disregard that. What else can I wear in ammo or should I just suck it up and stick with mavi until I get t.sachet?

2.) Kacura feet need to be +1'd, but I still think NQ are best option if Thaumas isn't available?

3.) Need Kacura Mitts +1 but even then, I like the +8 DEX on Mirage +2 Hands. Crit +2% better than 3 dex?

4.) lolToci's...I know.

5.) Thunder Ring/Earring need to be upgraded.

Overall thoughts? AM I DOIN IT RITE?! ^^

Brew Cuijatender, that's what I did. :P

Also, if you don't have Kacura feet +1, Scopuli Nails or Athos Boots will do.

Kacura mitts are better than Mirage bazubands +2.

Oh I forgot about Scopuli!

Kacura +1 still better though I'm guessing.

You basically want your normal DD spells/traits with a few minor additions. I don't usually use goblin rush, but for nyzul it's very useful since there are so many mobs weak to blunt. You obviously want heavy strike, qc, delta, whirl of rage, etc. Blank gaze is useful for soulflayers since they always have ice spikes up (except for the BLU leader). I usually set conserve mp trait as well, but it's not really needed. Benthic typhoon is great as well, the defense down lands on everything.

others: sudden lunge, dream flower, empty thrash, amorphic spikes, dual wield spells, etc.

what about nuke spells those are the one's i'm least familiar with using and would like at least 2 in my magic slots to help on flan floors. The most ideal spells for me would be low mp cost obv but decent damage to flans. suggestions?

Requiescat i can't think of any low cost, fast casting, mp effective nukes offhand that are spammable but you'll be having embrava and your own haste you shouldn't have any problem spamming this and doing more magic damage than using magic blue bullets.

but at the same time I don't have a great nuking set so I could be jaded in my opinion there. The only nuke I can think of is Regurg but I don't know it's numbers but I'm sure it doesn't compare to Req.

@ Helel: Why not just use Frightful Roar instead of benethic typhoon it has an aoe radius and not a funky conal that can be awkward to hit multiple mobs with.

I soloed my thunder sachet on BLU/WAR without a brew, brew isn't needed.

So, just to make sure I'm not leaving anything specific out, If I plan to do ALL roles listed in the OP aside from BLU/PLD..the following list of spells should be what to aim for?

Delta Thrust
Heavy Strike
Sudden Lunge
Amorphic Spikes
Barbed Crescent
Animating Wail
Battery Charge
Cocoon
Occultation
Magic Fruit
Winds of Promyvion
Auroral Drape
Filamented Hold
Actinic Burst
Fantod
Empty Thrash
Charged Whisker
Everyone's Grudge
Screwdriver
Quad. Continuum
Mortal Ray
Blazing Bound
Dream Flower
Regeneration
Chaotic Eye
Zephyr Mantle
Acrid Stream
Sound Blast
Benthic Typhoon
Quadrastrike
Uppercut
Battle Dance
Demoralizing Roar
Regurgitation
Dark Orb
Firespit
Thermal Pulse
MP Drainkiss
Magic Hammer
Goblin Rush
Bilgestorm
Bloodrake
Tourbillion
Vertical Cleave
Disseverment

Any aside from these I need to get? Burning BLU to 99 and then hunting for 50000 spells is not fun for anyone so just making sure I got the useful/necessary ones.

Blank Gaze and Sheep Song come to mind. You could probably hold off on Vertical Cleave, Tourbillion, and Magic Hammer. If you plan to AoE burn things, you should have Whirl of Rage.

Has any testing been done with the new crafted gear? I know we discussed Chelona gear and a few other pieces earlier in thread, but I'm curious how it impacts the original posted ideal sets.

Are Tumbler Trunks > Mavi tayt +2 for CDC?

Also, what do you recommend for a order of priority for Thaumas gear? Strictly for BLU obviously.

Body > Feet > Legs? Feet were looking like a first choice bc they look absolutely amazing for CDC but Body is just a great piece overall.

I burned blu, then I would just go to a zone put on pdt gear and link everything that could give me a spell in a zone. I would learn several at a time. It went pretty fast honestly.

Two important things to note. It would be fastest to skill up after burning to 99 and going for spells after skill is capped. Also work on getting af hands.

Capping skill (or near capping) will allow you to learn all spells in a zone instead of getting one then coming back later for another once you skill up high enough.

As for spells... I didnt look too hard but I found Pollen useful for burning skill ups.

Depends on gear/race/spell bonuses/buffs but I'd blindly point towards Tumbler Trunks for most content. Capping fSTR isn't an unreasonable assumption with higher-end sets, or even with moderate sets since you may drop some STR as gear improves. Unless I missed a memo where monsters with 100+ VIT abound nowadays... 120+ for VWNMs. If you get Boost-STR you can definitely assume you're capped.

How about against Nyzul mobs?

Current set:

STR + 22
Attack + 60

That is a fire Shik.

Not really good with knowing the detailed numbers so I'm not sure 22STR is hitting the fSTR cap.

That could basically be changed to STR + 30 Attack + 44 if I take out Tumbler and put in Mavi Tayt +2

Ocelo+1 vs Thaumas Hat for CDC?

You lose 8 DEX by switching to Thaumas but you get 11 STR(6+5 from set bonus with hands/legs/feet), 6 Attack and +4% crit. Does 8DEX's increase to the base DMG/dDEX win out over higher attack/4% crit?
