I didn't happen to see any suggestion on the number of items possibly required for the 99 Mythic upgrades as there was for the 99 relics 1000 number. Reading the item description for Mulcibar's Scoria perhaps it's referencing PW?

Mulcibar's Scoria
Scraps of molten metal left over from the construction of an ancient city of demons.
Historical Background
Pandæmonium" (American English "Pandemonium") stems from Greek "παν", meaning "all" or "every", and "δαιμόνιον", meaning "little spirit" or "little angel", or, as Christians interpreted it, "little daemon", and later, "demon" (thus roughly translated as "All Demons"). It is the name invented by John Milton for the capital of Hell, "the High Capital, of Satan and his Peers", built by the fallen angels at the suggestion of Mammon at the end of Book I, Paradise Lost (1667). A comparison in meaning can be made with "pantheon", which refers to all of the gods. Book II begins with the debate among the demons in the council-chamber of Pandæmonium. The demons built it in about an hour, but it far surpassed all human palaces or dwellings; it may have been small, though, since the demons are described as shrinking from their titanic size in order to fit in.
In terms of Vana'diel, the title implies that the Pandemonium Warden is of demonic nature, possibly a guardian of Hades; Vana'diel's underworld. The choice of Aydeewa Subterrane for his location, and whether or not there is any sort of link to the story is as of yet unknown. It is also noteworthy that most or all of the Pandemonium Lamps summoned by Pandemonium Warden are in reference to creatures existing in Greek and Roman mythology.
Pft, I think 5 would even be too much lol. 71k zeni + killing all those mobs + getting people who aren't idiots to kill PW for you for nothing..just for 1 scoria :x
8.1 years of 1k zeni per hour (no breaks, assuming 100% drop rate) is perfectly reasonable; this is SE after all. If you have 18 people, its only 164 days!
K, so from PW. Has anyone done the lower Tiers to see if they drop from there as well? Spamming T1's wouldn't be too bad.
I bought some pops yesterday for lower Tiers to test the exact same thing myself. Will kill today, was waiting for a THF just in case since I cna solo most.
I doubt they will make the item amount that high, Look at what happened to the trials when we had to do 2000 birds to first set and so on. They ended up making it much easier because relic holders spent all that gil and then people making Emps overpowered them. I would assume they would make 10 items for the 99 upgrade, I would even go so far to say 20 would be acceptable - noting the upgrade is worth it other then some more dmg...
