Wotg...WTF?

Ok so a buddy bumbled across a cavernous maw and didn't unlock any of the (S) ones. Is he boned or is there a way to get back to the past? Haven't had any luck doing wiki searches. <Help me out> Mission status is Back to the Beginning as active quest.

I think you had to go to one of the 3 zones connected to jueno to start. I did that a long time ago tho, so my pot-addled memory may be {too weak to be worthwhile}

when you FIRST start you go through any of the maws outside jueno, though you may be randomly dropped into any of those 3 in the past regardless of which you go in through. the one you come OUT of, is the one you can use at first. Problem is if you came out through Sauromugue Champaign S, then to go back to the past you'd have to pass the banishing gates to get back to it.

so tell him to try rolenberry and batallia first, otherwise he has to go through GS

EDIT: guess i wasn't sure if you were talking about doing it for the first time or trying to go back, if its the first time than any of those 3 will be fine, just make sure you unlock another if you end up outside garliage

It was rolanberry (maybe any, but 99% of people started at the rolan one and if you went to any other it would be kind of stupid) then you got transported to the past in rolan, batallia, or sauro. If you warped after this, then that's your only way back to the past. So like if you went to sauro your only way back is through garlaige present.

My guess is that you have to get through garlaige, go find clipper.

He'll need to use the Maw that corresponds to the (S) zone he first zoned into. I initially used the maw in Batallia and wound up in Sauromugue Champaign. I then tele'd back to the present w/o unlocking additional maws. In order to the return to the past, I needed to use the maw in Sauromugue Champaign.

:P The first maw I went thru was Batilla Downs, and I exited in the same place in the past. An old LS mate of mine exited out at Sauromongue and never bothered to unlock any of the others (Well thats what I suspected happened) and kept claiming that he was unable to goto the past cuz none of the maws work. But course probably didn't want to bother with the 4-switch gate just to goto the past.

A player the other day went in thru rolandberry and came out the same location... lucky. I like that one the most for the least amount of aggro and accessible to least two of the job unlock areas.
