berserk/warcry does nothing for wildfire.

the point is dual-wielding anything with your joytoy (or preferably mkris with 8/8 dagger) is going to dramatically gimp your tp gain, ws frequency and by extension your overall DoT.

but hey that's only been common knowledge since 2007 - wouldn't expect someone like the OP who afk'd their way to an Armageddon to know that or anything.

i don't know what you're trying to say. the conversation is about melee cor. the op is using mkris/acinaces which is about as counter-productive as it gets against any target in the game.

melee cor was king (and fun as hell) in old merit parties but you wouldn't have taken it to khimaira, right?

the viability of melee cor vs. abyssea nms isn't even under discussion but obviously it would have very limited use due to most abyssea nm's tp spam. However, i don't see any reason why melee cor would be outshined by /ra cor against nq abyssea mobs.

so basically nothing has changed.

Calling people who are Melee CORs HELP I AM TRAPPED IN 2006 PLEASE SEND A TIME MACHINE is just plain foolish. There's situations where this setup is viable, though it's mostly fodder mobs. Calling someone stupid when you don't even know the context in which they're using said Melee COR... when the situation they're most likely using it for is the right one.. is just... I don't even know.

Basically if it's fodder (See: Dynamis, Einherjar, Limbus, EXP parties of all sorts, easy NMs in like Visions/Scars areas) you should be meleeing (it's also cheaper!). If it's not you should be shooting, or if it's really scary doing nothing.

Belittling someone who might just do a lot of fodder-mob stuff on COR is just.... idk... dumb.

I thought cor was supposed to /WHM, throw out some rolls, and then AFK? /WHM is obviously for Magic Defense bonus for the AoE nukes they'll get hit by, of course.

wait, serious question.... even with 90 cap and /nin getting DW3, meleeing dual wield style on cor is STILL bad? I had thought that changed when 90 hit.... am I wrong? (i dont do it on cor...i'm in the process of leveling cor and don't want to look foolish when i do get higher up)

Am I doing it right? I keep the AF hat on, in case I do decide to quick draw after the tank dies.

Tell me what was better than Skadi legs for meleeing that actually existed. Oh wait, you can't. Barbarossa pants didn't exist, and ACP legs didn't exist until much later. So yes. Skadi Legs.

Hands were good for QD.

Morgana choker would be an upgrade, and Relic Hat would be better. Bifrost ring over Serket and I believe you're good to go.

Well serket ring is more expensive, so i thought it would be better. :( I'm too good to do dynamis or einherjar anyways.

I think the only time I saw skadi pants was on a THF.

It was best in slot on THF at the time, so understandable. Skadi wasn't best in slot, but it was a lot easier to acquire if you were already spamming Salvage anyway and had THF as a job.

It wasn't homam in most situations? I never really payed attention to THF back then, just TH4 and get off.

Depends on your setup. If you had vbelt/dusk+1 Skadi was best, if not pretty sure it was Homam.

Probably why I always thought homam then, since I didn't expect +1 dusk on most people back then.

Oh.. well in that case I'd recommend something with a little more MND since MP is not a big deal in Aby.
