You have to admit that you post _a lot_. While I find myself skipping over some of your posts that seem long-winded (My apologies to you), I would rather skip over the ones I find of no interest instead of simply hiding your posts altogether.
That's precisely the point we're making.
If people, like you, would rather skip over somebody's post than have it minimised, you can still do this even if sixty four people have that person's posts minimised. The blacklisting would only affect those who blacklist and would only minimise the posts on their screen. People who prefer to skip over or read, regardless of the content, would still be able to do that even if a blacklist feature is added. We would still need to add people onto the blacklists manually, and people doing so would in no way affect anybody but themselves.
That's really the key point with our idea. If the blacklist feature is added, we all have the individual choice whether or not to use it. If somebody blacklists somebody else's posts, we won't know about it because we'll still see them. The change will affect only the user blacklisting and nobody else. On the other hand, not adding a blacklist in because people would rather read the threads would hurt those who would prefer to blacklist because they're still having to put up with the trash talk that will come from people in the future.
PS. I know I post a lot, but we're not discussing blacklisting because of the quantity of somebody's posts; that point is irrelevant. Fair enough that it may result in missing some quality posts, but that is why it would simply be minimising rather than blocking somebody's posts altogether.
