I finally tried this the other night, started off LV13 sync in a 5/6 PT... Um, how are people getting 20k-40k like this? We got only 10k EXP per pull. (Pull -> kill all -> Wild Card -> repeat) for a total of 20k EXP, yet in some other thread people made it sound like 20k-40k per pull... Am I misreading, or did we do something wrong?

I'm not entirely sure they're saying 20-40k xp per pull, but 20-40k xp per hour, which can make quite a bit of difference. There are several different methods for doing these, and some don't require the use of 2hrs, which make higher xp per hour possible because they don't rely on a recharge of their 2hr abilities.

Depends on the number of mobs you can get, the level of the mobs, EXP bonuses like Corsair's Roll and EXP Bands, etc.

I was in one when it first came out, mostly to see what it was like.

Was Lv.10 in Yughott Grotto, I logged PLD friend and linked everything, half the mobs depopped by the time I got back though.

I didn't CFH on the mob I claimed originally, so I ended up dying, but apparently the rest of the group got in the region of about 15-20k exp with /COR Corsair's Roll.

Hmm, well they were having problems with mobs depopping - with two PLD's pulling, at that. :s Korroloka is way too gigantic. lol

Korroloka tunnel, party of 6 including 5 smn's and 1 sync. if you pulled the whole zone should get 30-40k exp. in some cases 45k depending if anything depopped while you pulled.

So basically, pull correctly and it = awesome EXP.

Any particular trick to keeping mobs from depopping?

Make sure you walk. Running allows the geometry to give you a lead. The moment you take the lead with that many mobs chasing you, they give up. It's pretty much essential you walk back to the camp to minimise the amount of depops. You will get a handful depopping anyway, though, but just a lot less if you walk. Got to make sure you're decked out on defense if you're walking, because low level monsters or not, when there's fourty of them they eat their way through a seventy five pretty damn fast.

Keep SS/Phalanx up

Having Protect IV/V helps alot too

Having Physical damage reduction gear works even more

RDM/PLD or PLD/RDM makes the best pullers for Astral Burn.

And avoid puddles, I don't know about bats and spiders, but a lot of mobs track by scent, so walking through water loses agro.

any job with decent enhancing magic skill by default can do this up to about lvl 70 mobs. I've pulled damn near the entire zone of flossorial fleas in Aydeewa Subterrane, having 30+ on me at once. Every one of them hitting for 0 as whm/rdm with just protectra V, and phalanx up. Occasionally a crit gets through for ~50 but nothing regen III can't handle.

Just make sure you keep up your phalanx or you're dead in seconds. A rdm, sch or pld/rdm can do this also. Don't remember their exact level off hand but they were synced to 60 I think.

52k in one pull last night *'-'

Used an empress band, and had a 5 on cor roll. Chain#123, then killed a few mobs that survived the initial AFs for like chain#10.

Went from 68SMN to 71SMN on that pull, and the one immediately following.

<.< >.> Aledacia, close your eyes and don't read this post.

So, this is very simple. You basically take any job that can take a beating to round up all the mobs. I prefer Rdm but a lot of jobs work. Whm/Rdm, Pld/Rdm, etc. etc. Then you pull them all back to the smn's/sync'er. The PL hits one of the mobs and uses ja's that will keep hate, but not kill it (flash/blind/provoke/etc. etc.) and then calls for help on it. You sync down and use AF, then BP on the cfh'd mob.

You can alternately sync to 19 and Thunderspark the mob as well.

Hope this helps. =)

with the new kupo power doubling conquest points per kill, this could be an effective farming method

Need to find a new zone to do this in. korroloka tunnel has had new, higher level mobs For Gov put in it, which makes it impossible.

Maze of Shak maybe. Not sure if new mobs there or not

Also, what's the point of CP now, outside of warp and reraise scrolls.

Isn't there a limit of 8 mobs max giving exp if you kill all at once? Making Astral Burning not possible any more?
